I felt very inspired yesterday👇

As a creator of "things" (projects, deliverables, art, whatever you want to call my body of work), accessing that special part of my brain where I get to just "be" is difficult. Yesterday, I found myself in that special place where creativity meets intuition; a flowing, relaxed energy that I haven't been able to access in a while.

If you're a creative person, I encourage you to find that special, safe space where you just get to "be." Mine is @mennobeauty, for now and for always 🫶.

My mind gets boggled every time I reflect on this😭.

If you work, get serviced, or have simply popped by @mennobeauty, thank you. I knew @mennomystic and I were capable of something big, but the fact that others can see that as well is astonishing to me and I don't take it lightly. We are working our butts off to live up to everyone's expectations, including our own.

So, yeah. I am naturally serious but I take this role VERY seriously. And I don't think that's a flaw, it's just a truth🫶.

Lately I've been presented with creative challenges and I'm finding SO MUCH joy in them😈.

I've gone back and forth over the years about whether or not I should stop accepting new clients. I am so lucky to have drawn in a clientele of thoughtful, respectful, and generous clients and I want my OG's to feel like they're my top priority.

HOWEVER- I need newness. I need to be challenged to see something new and collaborate on something different. Often times, new clients will present you with a curve ball or, at the very least, a fresh idea. This is where I grow, and I'm happy in growth zone.

Whether you've been seeing me for years or you've just liked a post from afar, thanks for trusting my vision. I appreciate y'all 🫶.

The amount of times people have projected this voodoo on us is wild😂

Business partnership is HARD, as is business ownership. @mennomystic and I have been friends for almost half my life, and with that length of friendship comes a lot of life lived. We've had to say the uncomfortable things, we've had to work through tension, and we've (most importantly) had to say sorry.

I'm not saying every friendship makes for a good business partnership, the opposite actually. But for us, it works VERY symbiotically, both organically and systematically. Where I am hard, Ali is soft. Where I am scared, Ali is brave. And when both of us feel pushed to the edge, we hold space for each other and power through.

Be PARTICULAR about who you do business with and be extremely clear and communicative. It just so happens that is how our relationship already functioned.

Proof that I exist outside of the Mennoverse⚡️

I like working. Like I actually feel so much satisfaction at the end of a very long or difficult work day because being a work horse is in my nature. Me 🤝 the hustle.

Where I struggle is drawing back. Relaxing, calming my nervous system, taking time to remember that I exist outside of my work. I try to remind myself that this IS a part of the work, because the ship doesn't sail without its captain(s). You gotta go live a lil as a business owner and THAT'S OK🫶.

Happy Sunday friends. I'm "off" of work but excited to be back @mennobeauty this week. See ya there💃.

Crazy day because I had THREE new clients which is rare for me nowadays. I will never stop accepting new clients as I love getting creatively inspired by new minds ❤️. Thank you for keeping me booked and busy Sacramenno!

This kind of post makes me sweat 🥲

I'm not on the internet to "spill the tea." I'm here to educate, motivate, and genuinely connect with like minded individuals. Connecting genuinely, though, takes some vulnerability so here we are.

I will never succeed at everything, and neither will you. The lessons come in trying, and the reality is that most people will never try. If you're trying (to be better, to learn a new skill, to put yourself out there etc) you're already separating yourself from the masses and winning. Trying is cool, effort is cool, and being yourself is really really cool.
