Happy New Year everyone, I really do wish the best for you all. Love, shay 💕 by @shaylee_writes

I wrote this @ 2 am and obviously I was in my feelings🥺 Any of my fellow poets get into a melancholy mood after midnight and write through shades of blue? Because same. by @shaylee_writes

I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels abandoned by people I thought loved me and I’m sure I’m not the only one who has a forgiving heart and an usual endless loving mind. After being constantly left behind I have nothing in my heart but love to give, although sometimes the thoughts for retribution permeate through, to make those that left understand what it’s like to be forgotten and lifeless. However I encourage you to not travel to the darkness and to continue on a path of love-to not fight fire with fire as it will result in both parties burned. I’m sure that one day we will find someone that doesn’t leave us behind, who can visualize our value and not take advantage of the altruistic nature of our kind hearted soul. I’m sure one day we will fight through the flames and find someone who appreciates the pain it took to acquire our scars and burns. 🤍 by @shaylee_writes

Unfortunately, a true story.
@hazel.poetry -prompt by @shaylee_writes

This is a take on one of @hazel.poetry prompts but with a little twist.

I don’t know about you all but I find it extremely difficult to talk about my pain. Most of the time I pretend it doesn’t exist and when I can’t pretend anymore I Isolate myself so that others don’t have to suffer and see what it’s like to perish inside, to be brought down by depression and look like wreckage and debris. But most of the time I hide it well, and if any of you have done the same, I’m sure you have words or phrases that get the job done, that trick those around you to think that you’re thriving and at ease. I don’t think this is healthy for us though, actually I’m sure it isn’t. But being a burden is terrifying and sometimes sadness is difficult to pinpoint and explain. So I’d rather live this way.

Can anyone else relate? 🥺💔 by @shaylee_writes

I’m not sure why I do this but I always seem to hold low expectations for others because I’m afraid to be disappointed. I often make excuses and ransack my brain for reasons why they were too busy or couldn’t follow through. I’m not sure when I defined love as a one way street, but I do know I’m tired of loving with nothing in return. I’m tired of expecting less from someone I love. Im tired from carrying relationships on my back and resuscitating them even when I know they have already passed. I’m just so tired. 🥺💔

Hey everyone❤️ I’m sorry I have been a little MIA this month. I’ve just been going through stuff and it’s really taken an emotional toll on me. I want to thank everyone who has purchased my book so far! And thanks to all that support me. Don’t forget to leave a review on Amazon to tell me what you think 🤍💕 by @shaylee_writes

Happy Easter everyone! ✝️🤍

If you have been through a breakup, a relationship you wanted to be your last, then you more than anyone know how hard it is to let go. Letting go can take many forms, sometimes it’s removing photos from your phone, putting all of the items that remind you of them in a box and storing it in the garage or throwing it away all together. Sometimes it’s unfollowing them on social media or sometimes it’s removing them from following you so you can finally have peace and know that you need time and distance away from them, as they do you so the pain can finally come to an end.

Taking this step is probably the hardest concept to fathom in a breakup, probably harsher than hearing the words from your partner that sparks died and that the end is near. But you’re brave to make this move and although you know sadness will still wash over you in waves and joy will take its time to greet you with open arms, I promise you will make it, I promise myself I will make it. One day we will know what contentment feels like once again. I believe that one day we will heal.

Publishing this poetry collection was definitely a process but putting my work out for all of you to have in your hands is the most fulfilling experience and worth every strenuous step it took to get here!
So thank you all for supporting me through the journey of writing this book, I really hope it resonates with you as much as it does with me ❤️ by @shaylee_writes

Ive always found it so interesting how we go to museums and look at lifeless paintings and statues and label it art. Often the statues hold saddened expressions, they express feelings of pain, and we consider it beautiful. In art we find something poetic about sadness but in life we shew it off like the plague. Because there’s nothing beautiful about feeling hollow, there’s nothing poetic about being broken.

ANNOUNCEMENT: MY BOOK COMES OUT TOMORROW 8:30am PST 🎉💕
I am so excited to show you what I’ve been working on for so long!! the link to purchase will be in my bio! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ by @shaylee_writes
