Me Made May - Day 30

#wychwoodfestival Day 2

#underwooddress by @sewhouse7 in a deadstock silver plisse jersey so it looks fancy but is really just a simple jersey dress. I’ve had so many compliments on it today but I am also ridiculously comfortable and cool. The only mod I made was to deepen the front and back neckline into a v neckline.

Me Made May - Day 29 @wychwoodfestival

Self drafted mini dress with my most coveted sugar cookie linen from @merchantandmills

I spent ages trying to work out how to get this dress fitted enough without destroying the stripes. In the end I opted for French darts. This was the perfect hot day festival dress and Sophie Ellis Bextor was a glorious headline act.

Me Made May - Day 24

This was meant to be a toile.

Just a quick test to check the fit… and now it’s somehow a fully wearable dress that I keep reaching for.

I swapped to French darts, pulled the shaping in, and it finally feels like the pattern is doing what I want it to do.

The fabric’s a bit drapier than the final version will be, but the fit is there now, which is the bit that actually matters.

Also slightly obsessed with the side split, even though the “proper” version won’t have it.

We’ll see if I regret that decision.

We had an incredible time at Wild Table today, it was an absolutely beautiful experience created with passion.

The food was astounding, the people were fantastic as ever the company was great. We’ve already booked for September 🙌🏻

Actual birthday plans: Wild Table, an outdoor dining experience in the woods 🌿

Same @moodfabrics #moodluccapattern trousers, different energy. Dressed down with a white tee, wool jacket and trainers from M&S.

Oversized, structured, and apparently very happy in a field.

Me Made May – Day 16 Birthday Night Out 🎂

I made the trousers of my dreams… and they were a free pattern from @moodfabrics 🤯 #moodlucca #moodluccapattern

Tailored details, oversized barrel leg, structured but still relaxed. Casual and directional.

The fabric is perfect for this pattern, a cotton twill with a slight stretch so it holds the shape but still moves, and gives the trousers a workwear edge.

Wearing them tonight for cocktails and dinner with the girls. I feel so good in this outfit.

Top is a self-drafted, boned corset (secretly very comfy), made entirely from scraps from another pair of trousers. Used every last bit because I love this fabric, soft blue ikat, graphic but still tonal.

Jacket is secondhand from Vinted and exactly my style, casual base, heavily embellished. By chance, the undertone works perfectly with the blue in the corset.

Proof that you can get exactly what you want when you make it yourself.
