📖 🌊ANNOUNCING: WOMEN AND WATER, A new book from She Explores 🌊 📖⁣ ⁣ We’re thrilled to share our latest project with you after the spending the last year (plus!) diving into all things water. Featuring more than 40 swimmers, paddlers, sailors, surfers, activists, artists, scientists, and fisherpeople…Women and Water showcases women in varied stages of their water journeys. Our hope? That reading this book opens you up to the world of possibilities surrounding this precious element.⁣ ⁣ We’re grateful to this book for giving us the opportunity to contemplate our own connection with waterways near and far, and to stretch ourselves dream up new ways of engaging with and protecting the environment. 📣ANNOUNCEMENT 📣 Nine years ago we started down a path and created She Explores. And as of today, we’ve reached the end of our time on this particular trail. As you may know, we’ve been slowing down for a while now, but we want to make it official: We have decided to close submissions and end production for She Explores. In your podcast feed, you’ll find our last episode. On She-Explores.com, you can read our last blog post. In both, you can learn more about the decision, what the team is up to now, and what we’ll be carrying with us. But here, we just want to say a big THANK YOU — for reading, sharing, and listening. For meeting us in person and online. For collaborating with us and for supporting this work. So much of She Explores has been about the connections we make in our time outside - and these connections have only been possible because of you. Goodbyes are bittersweet, to be sure, but especially so when you shared something special. Thanks for being a part of something that’s been hard to let go of, and easy to grow with. Besides providing a delectable treat, foraging for mushrooms is a great way to immerse yourself in the outdoors and learn about the natural world! 🍄 @naturally_chrisha lists below her favorite wild edible mushrooms. Which mushroom is your favorite to find? Featured mushrooms: King Bolete Chanterelles Blue Knight Morel Chicken of the Woods Oyster Finding these mushrooms in the forest takes a lot of research and learning to do so responsibly and with care. And importantly, foraging is a traditional practice for indigenous peoples. And it'll bring you whatever comfort you need.” When Irene Marcoux @irene_la_sirene was growing up and playing at her local pool, she didn’t dream of becoming a mermaid. She was a mermaid. Those early days of freedom and play were her gateway to a life in the water. And because she’s a big believer in the fact that every body can dive - Irene is all about helping others embrace their inner mermaid too.
