WAX ON 005 🥋

Next into the dojo: Shea-Minta

The Leeds-based DJ & producer draws strong influence from UK Bass culture. Countless hours on the dancefloor, in the studio, and deep digging on Discogs have shaped a sound built on stripped-back rhythms and heavy low-end pressure.

His contribution to WAX ON 005 reflects that foundation - bridging minimal, house and UKG, while weaving in his own productions. Direct, weighty and built for movement.

Across the North, Shea has played with brands including ABB, Appletree, Audial, Compound, FREQ and Takeover, performing at venues such as Distrikt, Mint and Hidden, and supporting names like Dungeon Meat, Keefy G, Mehlor, Mother Earth, Tristan Da Cunha and Truly Madly.

With his debut release landing later this year via @takeover_collection this mix captures a producer stepping forward with clarity and intent.

The mix series is available on YouTube and Soundcloud via our linktree 🔗 taken in The Dojo by @shea.minta

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT // SHEA-MINTA

Heading over from Manchester for our October Bakery event is Shea-Minta.

A regular around the Manchester and Leeds scene, Shea’s sets sit somewhere between stripped back garage, minimal and house - heads down grooves, plenty of swing and the kind of selections that keep things moving.

He’s no stranger to Miyagi either, having already featured at our forest party and also on WAX ON 005. If you’ve not heard it yet, the mix is still pinned to our page and sitting in the WAX ON SoundCloud archive.

With new material on the way and a growing catalogue of club-focused tracks, this one feels like a proper Bakery debut.

As the nights begin to draw in, the bakery returns with a lineup built for darker dancefloors.

First up, Manchester’s Shea-Minta. A regular across the North known for his stripped-back blend of garage, minimal and house, and previously featured on WAX ON 005.

Joining him is Manoova, the gaffer behind Remedy Festival, whose releases on labels including Origins Rcrds and Whoyostro have earned support alongside a busy touring schedule.

Completing the lineup is Carl Waller, a lifelong house music devotee whose productions have appeared on labels including Armada, Lawless, Moxy and Pitch. With close to one million streams across platforms and credits including an official Inner City remix, Carl continues to balance classic influences with his music. His latest production is also set to feature in the upcoming GTA release.

As always, entry is free, with tickets available through Resident Advisor.

Sun shining. Tunes thumping. Feet Stomping!

That’s what to expect from our very first Day Party.

After throwing some gritty and raw parties, we thought it was time to do what we do best—but under the sun.

We’re taking over the DBA in true Takeover fashion, with Dimensions Festival’s dangerous duo, Mother Earth, headlining! Having previously delivered standout sets at Glastonbury, Dimensions, and ADE, and being firm favourites at fabric, Suzie & Bella are no strangers to the scene.

Also joining them is rising star Elleinad, who is making serious waves in the scene. Having performed at Hide & Seek Festival and Progress, and supported some of the best in the industry. When she’s on, expect to be taken on a journey.

Our residents, King Arthur and Ken, will be on support, joined by long-time friends Shea-Minta and Yonmon—both seasoned Takeover party veterans.

I recently recorded a live stream - I tried on Instagram but it was playing at double speed, so apologies to anyone who saw that🤣

I did manage to get it working properly through YouTube though!

Thank you to anyone who has already checked it out, and to anyone else, you can watch the full mix by following the link in my bio.
