This man. ❤️

I don’t think I’ve ever publicly said how important Tom has been to my life.

I first lived under his roof when I was 16 and had nowhere else to go.

Somehow, life brought me back to his house again years later.

I’ve lived there for the last seven years - through what has easily been the darkest, hardest, and most transformative chapter of my life.

He watched me fall apart. He watched me disappear into myself. He watched me become versions of myself that even I didn’t understand.

And he never gave up on me.

When almost everything in my life felt uncertain, Tom was constant.

He gave me a home. He gave me stability. He gave me the space and time to find my way back to myself without ever asking me to be anything other than who I was.

There is no version of the life I’m building now that exists without what this man did for me.

Some people change your life loudly.

Tom changed mine by simply never leaving.

I love you, Tom. ❤️ by @shea_helms

Some paths are meant to be walked alone.

At least that’s what I thought.
