On the last day of @texas_tribune #tribfest26 we took our voices outside! @inprinthouston poetry buskers joined our booth by creating poems out of your prompts about the arts.

We were also joined by Special guests poets @sonytonaime & @outspokenbean who then shared the beautiful poems on the stage.

Thank you to everyone passing by our booths for the past few days and sharing their thoughts on why the arts matters in Texas and beyond! 💙 taken in Austin, Texas by @shearcreativity

Some great work is done behind a desk. Some of it you just need to go stand in the middle of.

This week found our COO, Jess, in St. Louis, ready to listen, connect and be a part of the community our partners have built. Being present matters, so we go where the people (and maybe a cool arch or two) are. taken in St. Louis, Missouri by @shearcreativity

Houston showed up to share, to listen and to hold space for the stormy parts of our lives we don't always say out loud.

Our friends @willowwaterhole hosted Rooted Resilience, a storytelling evening about storms and the community we build in response.

Once again, we were reminded that creating community means creating room for the overcast stuff 🌥 and the joyful stuff together.

And if you haven't wandered the trails at Willow Waterhole yet, put it on your list. It's one of Houston's best-kept green secrets.

Houston runs deep for us and will always be the city that shaped who we are and how we understand and serve the world.

Our friends at @crafthouston have a new exhibition: Clutch City Craft. It explores what helped build H-Town: blue tile mosaics to cowboy boots, lowriders to NASA.

A fitting tribute to a city where making and dreaming are part of the cultural DNA.

We ❤️ you, Houston. taken in Houston Center for Contemporary Craft by @shearcreativity

In tumultuous moments, strong strategy matters. So does taking the time to align as humans.

We had the privilege of joining the @lwvhouston staff and board for a strategy retreat - facilitated by our friends @januaryadvisors.

At a time when democracy work is anything but simple, this was a room grounded in hope, clarity, courage and real connection. Let's get ready to vote, y'all. The future is in our ballot boxes. 👏 taken in The Women's Institute of Houston by @shearcreativity

Grateful for spaces that invite perspective.

This morning we gathered at the Ismaili Center Houston with a room full of leaders who care deeply about the future of the arts in our city. Thoughtful conversation. Big questions. Real commitment.

Houston’s arts ecosystem is extraordinary—and so are the people stewarding it.

Thank you to the @houstonartsalliance board for leaning in, and thank you to the @ismailicenterhou for the tour and example of how to authentically foster connection. taken in Ismaili Center Houston by @shearcreativity

Here's a peek into what happens when a fully remote team finally lands in the same zip code.

In Austin, we traded our screens for sunlight, long walks, shared tables, late-night music and the kind of clarity that only comes from being together with intention.

We celebrated our people and made space for the conversations that shape the work ahead. Retreats like this remind us that connection isn’t a luxury for mission-driven teams. It’s part of the infrastructure that keeps the work strong.

It’s the same approach we bring to the offsites and retreats we design for clients — thoughtful pacing, meaningful rituals and room for imagination. If your team is ready for that kind of space, we’d be honored to help create it. #linkinbio taken in Austin, Texas by @shearcreativity

We are heartbroken to share that our dear friend and colleague, Shanita John, passed away on August 3, 2025.

As an Account Director on our team, Shanita nurtured our clients’ most important work while keeping our team energized, inspired and laughing.

She believed in people and in the power of connection. She had an innate ability to see and anticipate how best to support all of us every step of the way. Shanita was a treasure.

We will miss her thoughtfulness, her creativity and her light. Our time together was not nearly long enough, but her impact will continue to be felt in the work she championed.

Our team was out of the office last week to grieve the loss of this beautiful life, and we are deeply grateful to our clients and partners for their patience and kindness. While the grief doesn’t end here, Shanita’s warmth lives on in the connections we build and the spaces we create together.

We’ll miss you, friend, and are forever better for having known you. ❤ by @shearcreativity

📢 Business isn’t neutral. It shapes democracy, workers’ rights and economic justice every single day.

This #BCorpMonth, we’re not just celebrating—we’re challenging businesses to step up and take a stand. Because in a time when democratic institutions are under attack and nonprofits are struggling to survive, silence isn’t leadership.

B Corps across industries are proving that business can be a force for good. But it takes more than a mission statement—it takes action, advocacy and a willingness to disrupt harmful systems.

Read our latest article on why businesses must rise to this moment. Because the choices we make today? They shape the future.

Hope is written in bold strokes, built in quiet moments and carried in the hands of those who refuse to give up. Hope is work. And right now, that work matters more than ever.

If you’re feeling the weight of this moment, you’re not alone. Keep going. Keep organizing. Keep showing up. Hope is in the doing.

Dr. King’s dream is not just history—it’s a call to action. On this MLK Day, we remember that justice isn’t inevitable but something we must fight for every single day.

As history unfolds around us, let’s stand firm in the pursuit of what’s right.

We first shared this artwork by @beeborp in 2022, but today, it feels more important than ever. For those feeling weary, for those still pushing forward—we see you. Keep going. Our shared dream is alive in the work we do together.
