I’m excited to share that Firesale has been acquired by Shedd Inc. ( @shedd.app )

I have also joined Shedd as Chief Operating Officer and serve on the company’s Board of Directors alongside CEO Ryan Frankel and Board Director Dean Skurka.

Why This Made Sense

Ryan and I first met about six months ago and quickly realized we shared the same vision: building the next generation of frictionless technology that helps people buy and sell secondhand goods.

As many of you know, Firesale was built to modernize the yard sale experience. While we made tremendous progress, we also discovered several structural challenges with the category:

- Complex logistics around local pickup and delivery
- Heavy reliance on hyperlocal marketplace density for large, unshippable items
- High customer acquisition and retention costs due to the broad range of inventory categories

During our conversations, it became clear that Shedd had already solved (or didn’t have) these core challenges.

Secondhand apparel is inexpensive to ship, transactions are not dependent on local density, and the company’s singular focus on vintage and secondhand fashion creates significantly stronger customer acquisition, retention, and repeat purchasing behavior.

Perhaps most importantly, Ryan brings more than 16 years of experience in the vintage wholesale industry and operates Thrift Vintage Fashion, one of the largest B2B wholesale vintage apparel businesses in the United States.

This gives Shedd a unique competitive advantage through direct inventory access, deep supplier relationships, and an established network of professional resellers who both source inventory and sell on the platform.
