POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This month, I celebrated 42 years of life. 💫

As the year comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on God’s grace, the kind that carries you through seasons of uncertainty, growth, and quiet becoming. 2025 stretched my faith, my sense of purpose, and the way I show up in my work, but I’m grateful for the resilience to keep going and the heart to keep creating.

To my fellow creatives and industry peers who showed up with conversation, perspective, and encouragement along the way, thank you. Community matters, and I’m grateful for those who continue to champion the work I’m building.

And for those navigating fatigue or doubt, remember that the work still matters. The ideas you’re holding are alive and unfolding in their own time. Don’t confuse quiet seasons with wasted ones. God is still moving, even when you can’t see the shift.

Stepping into 2026 with gratitude, faith, and an open heart for what’s ahead. ✨

Today, August 18, we celebrate the life and legacy of Malcolm-Jamal Warner. I remember him not only for his remarkable craft but for the quiet power with which he moved through a room.

In 2011, @co_cosho and @shalondrahenry invited me to join an incredible crew of people on BET’s first original sitcom, “Reed Between the Lines.” It wasn’t my first show with the network but it was one of the first times I felt the soul of a set move in sync with its purpose. That experience stayed with me.

Part of my role was helping to organize cast birthdays and crew parties. What I was really given was trust, a quiet Blessing. A chance to show up with heart and creativity long before I carried the title of Producer. Those moments became my way of giving back to a team I deeply respected. With distance and perspective, I can see how much that trust meant. It was a gift and an affirmation that I belonged.

#MalcolmJamalWarner’s presence at those gatherings went beyond charm. He brought care, he elevated the space and he led by example. His generosity still lives on in the people he inspired.

Happy Birthday, Malcolm! 🎂
You will truly be missed, but your light, your laughter, and your energy remain. I’m grateful I got to witness your brilliance up close and to feel the kindness you carried into every connection. To his family and all who loved him, my deepest condolences, love, and gratitude. ✨

Twenty years ago, I was a Communications major at @morganstateu, learning how to craft stories rooted in truth, culture, and legacy. I didn’t know where the journey would lead me, but I knew I wanted to use storytelling to reflect Black beauty, honor our truths, and give back to the people and communities that shaped me.✨

I came to MSU seeking a degree, but what I gained was purpose. I’m deeply grateful to the professors who recognized my potential and challenged me to trust my voice, lead with intention, and produce work that resonates far beyond the screen.🎬

To every student at an HBCU daring to tell our stories: your voice has power! The ideas that keep you up at night, the projects you create in class, and even small ideas in your notebook are the foundation for work that shifts the narrative. Grow your gifts.Let Them Speak! The culture needs what only you can give. ✊🏾📚

Stream my latest project #OperationAunties now on @watchallblk. It’s more than a film, it’s legacy in motion.🧡💙🐻

✨It’s premiere day!!✨

#OperationAunties is streaming NOW on @watchallblk and I couldn’t let this moment pass without honoring part of the journey.

The first photo takes me back to the start of my scripted television career at BET, working as a PA on Season 4 of Mara Brock Akil’s “The Game”. I had the honor of working with a dream team cast and crew on the network’s comeback season @iamwendyraquel was magnetic, a leader on and off set, and always a light! ✨

Years later, I had the privilege of attending the 2014 BronzeLens Women Superstars Luncheon, where Wendy was honored for her contributions to entertainment. I was just proud to be in the room. In 2020, I returned to Bronzelens as an Alum, awarded Best Southern Short Documentary for my film “Watching The Storm”.

And now as Wendy makes her Directorial Debut I’m incredibly proud to stand beside her as an Executive Producer on a film that reflects so much of what we value and to share this moment with a fellow HBCU Alumna makes it even more meaningful.

From pre-production to post, and through every creative detail, it was a gift to build this alongside Wendy from the earliest stages, with my fellow EP & Partner @latishafortune and our brilliant Writer/EP TJ Ali @galleryville. Huge thanks to our 1st AD/Co-Producer @directoralg for helping us pull off such an ambitious shoot schedule with care and precision. And to the most talented Editor I know @dnowell_edits for making this entire film shine! The trust, the collaboration, the planning…it all shows up on screen! 🙌🏾✨

Working on this project was more than a professional milestone; it was a creative partnership built on purpose and intention. We shot this film in just 10 days, but the heart behind it was years in the making!

Your path may not make sense in the moment. But if you keep showing up, one day it will! God is so good! 🖤✨

Heartfelt thanks to @mastermyndbrett & @nikkilovesfilm for always believing in me and giving me the space to grow as a creative. You are appreciated! 🙌🏾✨

🎬 Stream #OperationAunties today July 11 on ALLBLK.
