I spent months telling myself I was living the dream....

I digital nomaded across Asia all of last year. New city every other month. Had some crazy experiences like climbing volcanoes and going whitewater rafting and surfing.

But the truth is, there were two voices in my head the whole time:

One said scale the business, sign clients, make serious money.

The other said you're in Bali, go explore, you might not come back.

So I tried to do both. And ended up half-assing each one.

I wasn't fully present on the road, because my brain was always half on the business.

But I also couldn't lock in, because the other half was wondering where I'd work tomorrow, which gym was nearby, whether the hotel had a desk or just a tiny table facing a wall.

Here's what I didn't anticipate: traveling is cognitively expensive.

Every day you're making dozens of small decisions you wouldn't make at home.

None of those decisions feel big in isolation. But they eat the mental bandwidth you need to think clearly about your business.

Because building something serious doesn't just take hours...it takes deep, uninterrupted cognitive energy. And that only shows up when your environment is stable.

I've been back in Amsterdam for eight months now. Same flat, same gym, same morning routine.

And I’ve been insanely locked in.
Landing new clients, learning new skills, clearer thinking than I've had in years.

No way that happens on the road.

The digital nomad dream sells you freedom. What it doesn't mention is that freedom without stability is just expensive chaos.

Travel is a gift. I'll do it again.

But next time it’ll be two weeks with a clear head. Not a year trying to build an empire from a hammock.

Be intentional about which season you're in. And actually commit to it! taken in Mt. Rinjani by @sheenicus

Meditation saved my life.

Not in a "woo-woo good vibes only" kinda way…

But in a - my income went up, my relationships got better, and my whole life changed for the better - kinda way.

In 2023–2024, I meditated every single day. And that period produced more breakthroughs than any other in my life:

- I launched my first business
- Quit a corporate job that paid well but drained me
- Closed the gap on my relationship which had been long-distance up till then
- Six figure results for clients
- Hit my first 10k/m in revenue

Then in 2025, I decided to digital nomad around Asia for a year.

It was an amazing time, but the habit slipped.

I don't blame myself for that. But something changed…

I became reactive. Irritable. Scattered. Like I was responding to life instead of creating it.

Nothing in my business was clicking. Nothing in my personal life felt like it had direction.

I was moving fast and going nowhere.

I started meditating again in January this year. And now I feel the spirit returning to my body…

Three new great-fit clients in three months. The best coach I've ever worked with. Bad habits cut. Back in the gym. Back feeling like my best self.

Here’s why this works:

Meditation makes me proactive instead of reactive in life. It creates connections and aha moments I can't manufacture any other way.

And those connections directly affect how I think, how I sell, and how I show up for the people around me. The income follows the internal state.

Recently I've been going to the Chinese temple for group meditation sessions. Even though it’s in the middle of the noisiest neighbourhood in Amsterdam, it’s an oasis of peace.

Incense, silence, the occasional gong. You walk out and see the world with fresh eyes.

The funniest part is I didn’t grow up with any of this. Was raised going to church.

But I treat life like a split test. You try things. You measure. You keep what works and cut what doesn't.

This works. I'm never stopping again. by @sheenicus

𝙄 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙮 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚.

I grew up in a pretty traditional Chinese household. Follow the conventional path. Study hard in school. Get into a high earning white collar career like law, banking or consulting. I actually did all three LOL.

Job hop to get a pay rise. You’ll make £35k -> £70k -> £100k / year if you work hard enough. Sit through long boring meetings and blow water with colleagues. That’s how you win in life.

Realised this wasn't for me. Decided to go my own way instead.

And then in my first year freelancing, I got hired to do a Black Friday promotion. This was for an influencer in the financial education space. I wrote a few emails to sell one of his digital products. Took me about 4 days to put the emails together (I was a noob back then).

𝙋𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙣𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙮 $100𝙠 𝙞𝙣 2 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠𝙨.

Holy SH*T.

Imagine seeing a business make more $$ in 2 weeks than what you used to make in a year.

Of course, you still need to pay your employees, make the product, and have assets like an email list and social media following.

But still.

That was the moment everything clicked for me. I realised the insane potential there is in online education. Not only to make money (who doesn’t like money) but to make a real impact on people’s lives all over the world.

Now I can never go back.

So grateful to have found the industry that will define my entire career at such a young age.

Love,
