Hey, today I want to share my thoughts on The Wicked King by Holly Black.

I absolutely loved this book. I always love the dynamic between Jude and Cardan. I love how he can surprise her, and how she fascinates him even though she isn’t aware of it.

I also really love Jude as a character. I love how her abilities are grounded in her training and her heritage rather than simply being something she was born with.

I also just love the way the story unfolds. There are so many different plots, twists and little details that make the story so much fun to read.

So, my final opinion on this series is still the same: everyone should read this series, especially if you like fantasy. ✨

Current Read 📖✨

I’ve now reread the original trilogy of The Folk of the Air by Holly Black, and I’m currently reading The Stolen Heir, the first book in the duology that follows the main series.

I absolutely love the story and the characters so far. I also really appreciate the writing style. I just adore how this author manages to captivate me and pull me into her stories.

I hope to finish it soon so I can start The Prisoner’s Throne. I’m really excited to see where the story goes next!

Hey, today I want to talk about the novel Court by Tracy Wolff. This is the fourth book in the Katmere Academy series.

I liked it, but it’s definitely not my favourite book in the series so far. I had a really hard time continuing this novel. There were long periods where I just couldn’t reconnect with the story.

I still loved the characters, and the bigger storyline kept me interested, but I felt like there were too many quests and a little too many setbacks. I would have liked it if at least one of the plans they came up with had actually worked. 😅

The big battle at the end was also a little sad, as yet again a lovely side character dies. I just don’t think that was necessary, and I feel like the ending could have worked without it.

Overall, though, I’m still hooked on these characters and the story, and I’m definitely excited to read the last two books of the series. 🫶

So, if you want to read a thick book (1028 pages!) with lots of things happening, different settings and plenty of quests and challenges for the characters to overcome, this novel could be for you.

September recap 🍂📚

This September was good to me. I had my last exam, went to Prague and finally had some time to find myself again.

I also had the time to finally finish Court by Tracy Wolff. It’s not my favourite novel in the series, but it was still worth reading.

I also finished The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King by Holly Black. These were rereads for me, and they were still soooo good. 🫶

I also read the novella The Lost Sisters, which I didn’t read the first time around, and I’m definitely happy I did.

I hope I can continue with this good vibe, and I hope you had an equally good month. 🤎

Hey, I finally wrote my last exam and now I feel like I’m alive again.

I went café hopping, finally finished Court by Tracy Wolff, and had time to watch a lot of movies. I really feel so much better now and I’m just enjoying having some free time again. 🤍

Hey, today I wanted to talk about the novella The Lost Sisters by Holly Black.

Not spoiler-free!

At first, I didn’t want to read this book because I had already read The Folk of the Air series and I’m only rereading it. But since I couldn’t sleep last night, I just bought it on my Kindle and read those few pages. And I’m absolutely happy I did!

It added something to the story that I didn’t have the first time I read the series. Getting Taryn’s point of view really made me see her in a different way.

I always thought she was a little naive and oblivious, but not necessarily bad. But she really isn’t good to Jude, and honestly, she can be quite unfair. She is kind of selfish, and it really seems like she lacks a little bit of self-respect when it comes to her relationship with Locke.

And Prince Cardan really is the cutie I thought he was. 😂

So, to conclude: read it! These few pages are definitely worth it, and it’s short enough to read in one sitting.

Here is another friendly reminder (to myself). 🤍

I have one exam coming up, and I really don’t feel motivated to study, even though I know I have to and I really want to pass. So I’m just trying to motivate myself with everything I can find.

I keep reminding myself that I’m doing good and that even if I only manage to do a little bit of work, it’s still better than doing nothing.

I just keep telling myself that it will be over soon, and I want to finish strong. So for now, I’m just trying to take it one step at a time.

I hope you’re in a better state of mind than I am right now. 😂

The TBR for my favourite month! It’s the beginning of fall and also my birthday month, so I’m really looking forward to it. 🤎

I really want to try to continue Court by Tracy Wolff, but I’m kind of stuck with the story at the moment. Hopefully I can get back into it this month!

I also really want to reread The Folk of the Air series by Holly Black. I’m definitely in the mood for that kind of dark fairytale right now. ✨

I have high hopes for this month and can’t wait to see what I’ll actually end up reading!

Hey, today I want to share my thoughts on The Cruel Prince by Holly Black @blackholly . ✨

This was a reread for me, and I still really love this story. I absolutely love the writing style of this novel. It adds so much to the dark fairytale feeling and makes the world of Faerie feel beautiful, but also dangerous and unpredictable.

The characters are another favourite of mine. I love that Jude isn't your typical princess-like protagonist, but a warrior. I love seeing her train, work for her strength and learn how to survive in a world where she is constantly underestimated.

I'm absolutely hyped for the next books, even though this was a reread! 🫶

So, if you're looking for a dark fairytale with a fascinating world, morally grey characters, betrayal and a Faerie world that is definitely not as lovely as the fairytales make you believe, this might be one for you. 🌿✨

August recap 📚✨

This month was filled with a lot of travelling and good food. And unfortunately, also a lot of studying, as I still have a few exams left to write.

Still, I managed to read two books this month and continued reading Court by Tracy Wolff. My favourite book this month definitely has to be Statt aus dem Fenster zu schauen. 🤍
