It’s Black History Month! This year’s theme, ‘Honouring Black Britain’, recognises the people and communities who have shaped, and continue to shape, Britain’s culture, history and future.

We’re inviting all our societies to get involved, so if you want to plan an event for BHM, submit it to be included in our calendar via your society student dashboard.

Keep an eye on our socials throughout the month to stay in the loop, and check out the link in our bio for events, activities and ways to get involved 🔗 by @sheffieldsu

Starting university is a big change, so who better to share some advice than students who’ve already been through it? 🌟

We asked Sheffield students what they wish they’d known before starting uni, and you shared some brilliant advice. From making friends and finding your feet to looking out for yourself, here’s what they had to say.

Swipe through for their advice - and save this one for when you need it.

A big thank you to everyone who sent in their advice! 🫶
