Important information ahead of the counter-demo, this Saturday 26th September ‼️

Far-Right Thug Danny Tommo is spearheading a new shift in far-right violence, leading a group of street thugs through the streets of Dover, Portsmouth, and London.

Last night, he slashed a lifeboat containing a group of Asylum Seekers as well as a lifeguard volunteer. This is a man who already has a conviction for knife crime, as well as attempted kidnapping, and is directing a step-up in the violence shown by the Far-Right.

These issues are not isolated, and his supporters will no-doubt attempt to recreate this violence locally if they feel confident enough to do so.

We’ve seen this before with the pogrom at the Manvers Hotel, when a group of fascist thugs attempted to burn the hotel down with refugees inside. The people of South Yorkshire responded with an insurgence of anti-racist activity which kept the Far-Right Off Our Streets.

It is crucial that the Far-Right are opposed at every turn, to make sure that they aren’t able to organise or build locally.

Join us This Saturday 26th September to ensure that local racists Raise The Colours are reminded once again that we are many, and they are few. 💪

Update: progress has been made in discussions with Crookes Social Club. Nothing confirmed yet, but we're confident we'll be able to go back to enjoying and recommending the club in the near future.

On the evening of Wednesday 12th August, while most normal people were enjoying the solar eclipse, Crookes Social Club hosted a meeting of the Sheffield branch of Restore Britain – Reform’s even more right wing splinter party and Rupert Lowe “personality” cult.

At short notice, antifascists from SCARF, Stand Up To Racism, and Walkley Antifascists mobilised to hold an impromptu picket/eclipse party. Although the sparsely attended meeting managed to go ahead thanks to hired security and a circling police presence, several potential participants were turned away while those who made it inside were left with little doubt about how the majority of Sheffield feels about them and their divisive lies.

Hosting Restore was something of an odd choice by the management of Crookes SC, which has previously hosted several left-wing and LGBTQ+ events. Despite numerous complaints from regulars before the meeting, the response has been largely indifferent and occasionally hostile, with the company line seeming to be that they will accept bookings from anyone and everyone provided they pay. It’s unlikely the handful of racist bootlickers' beer tokens and a small hire fee will prove to be smart business in the long run.

We’re big fans of traditional pubs and clubs, but if Crookes SC sticks to its policy of providing space for fascist organising we’d recommend patronising one of Sheffield’s many more discerning venues. taken in Crookes Social Club by @sheffieldsutr

Speaking out yesterday against South Yorkshire Police's decision to facilitate around 100 racists to march to a hotel where people seeking sanctuary so they could try and intimidate them (or worse).

Sheffield’s response was immense - with over 1000 people coming out to show that we are proud to be a welcoming city, and we will not allow the far right to spread fear and hatred in our communities unopposed. by @sheffieldsutr

We’re calling for EVERYBODY OUT this Saturday. ✊

That means that if we saw you in the summer of 2024, at the UKIP Counter-Demo, or any other time, we want to see you out on the streets this Saturday. 🫵

As the Far-Right plan a new wave of pogroms, it is crucial that we push back against any forms of local organisation that build themselves on division, hatred, and racism. ❌

This Saturday, we need everyone on the streets to send a clear message to the Far Right: you will never be able to organise locally without massive resistance, there are more of us than you, and refugees are welcome in our broad & diverse city.

This Tomorrow we are asking you to join us with your placards for the first full council meeting to make it clear we are an anti-racist city and we are proud of our diversity. ✊

The election of Reform councillors in this city is shocking- 12 were elected bringing their total to 13 – however we have already seen the Woodhouse Reform UK councillor exposed as a Neo Nazi and suspended from Reform UK nationally.

Many scandal-hit Reform UK candidates have been elected. We need to expose them for the safety and well-being of our communities.
