Ever heard the hidden story of Harsiddhi Mata Mandir in Ujjain? 🪷🛕

Legend says that when Lord Shiva carried Maa Sati’s body, Lord Vishnu’s Sudarshan Chakra cut it into pieces. The places where her body parts fell became sacred Shakti Peethas.

It is believed that Maa Sati’s elbow fell at this very place, making Harsiddhi Mata Mandir one of the most revered spiritual sites in Ujjain. 🙏

So, I’ve crossed the Maharashtra border and entered Madhya Pradesh, and right now, I’m near Sendhwa!

This is my solo ride from Thane to Ujjain, covering around 650+ kilometres one way.

Maharashtra is behind me, Madhya Pradesh is ahead, and Ujjain is the destination! 🔱

There’s something special about solo rides. You get to explore new places, experience different roads, and enjoy your own company.

And now, the journey continues towards Mahakal’s नगरी!

Day 4 | Jaipur – Chandigarh

Total kms to cover: 518 kms

Today’s ride was a long one.

For riders travelling from Jaipur to Chandigarh, there is a direct route via the Trans Haryana Expressway. However, motorcycles are not allowed on this road, which means riders have to take a detour.

We rode from Jaipur to Rewari, then continued towards Sonipat. From there, bypassing Delhi, we headed towards Kurukshetra, then Ambala, and finally Chandigarh. There is another route that passes through Delhi, but to avoid city traffic and delays, we chose the Haryana route instead.

The biggest challenge of the day wasn’t the distance, it was the heat. The temperatures were brutal, and riding through the plains of Haryana felt like being inside an oven.

We reached Chandigarh around 5:45 PM and got freshened up. Since auxiliary fog lights are not allowed in Chandigarh, we covered them using dustbin bags before entering the city. It’s one of the simplest tricks riders use, though socks work just as well.

As many of you know, my KTM Adventure 390 X doesn’t come with a centre stand, so chain maintenance becomes a team effort. The three of us worked together to lube the chain and get the bike ready for the next leg of the journey.

I was using ceramic chain lube on this ride, and it performed really well. Unlike regular lubes that need frequent application, this one lasted over 500 km without any issues, making it ideal for long-distance touring.

With the bike prepped and everything sorted, we wrapped up the day. Tomorrow is a rest day before we continue our journey towards the mountains.
