This is what 35 looks like.

Grey hairs, wrinkles, scars, and stretch marks.

What I see is love and a hope for tomorrow.

These past two years have taught me so much about myself. I am resilient. I must be dependent on God. I am learning to live by faith continually. I fully submit to his will in my life. I am a sinner. And most importantly how much my love for Raul continues to grow even without him physically here. by @sheheartraw

Over five years ago, she began having seizures. Over the years, we’ve adjusted medications, explored every option, and never stopped searching for answers. While we were able to stop her visible seizures, the ones no one could see continued. Behind her smile and unstoppable spirit, the battle never truly ended.

Today, for the first time, there wasn’t a single spike.

Is it the medication? Maybe. But no matter the reason, this is progress. This means her brain finally has the chance to truly rest while she sleeps.

The real Raul... CONFESSIONS:
These past two months have been very difficult for us. Celebrating yet another birthday without him, seeing your children miss their father, wishing he was here to celebrate little occasions or huge milestones, wondering how he would handle the #rona pandemic, and missing his radiant smile. This art piece was something I wasn’t expecting and took me off guard. It brought me to tears to see how someone could create something so beautiful and capture who Raul really was. Yes, he was a graffiti artist, but first he was a man after God’s heart, a husband, and amazing father. That’s how we knew him. Thank you @barragan_angela and @chrisisgoing for blessing my family during this very challenging season with such a beautiful gift. I love you both! by @sheheartraw

This birthday has been bittersweet. Not having Raul, being “quarantined” due to COVID-19, and working from home with 3 kids has been a real challenge, but I thank God for another year of life completed. Hello 34 may you be better than 33! taken in Pasadena, California by @sheheartraw
