a serious post because my stories are temporary. the effects of genocide are forever.

as a black & native american, there is no condoning what the US has done in terms of funding a genocide. we watched native americans slowly be forgotten in addition to ignored TODAY as we ask and beg for our rights on our land. to fight for livelihood on OUR land. palestinians are actively doing so.

this genocide is not about anti-semitism. it never has been. the manipulation of white people tears & fragility force poc to feel demonized when they retaliate against systemic and militant oppression.

overnight activists had so much time to care for actual anti-semitism. fighting a genocide is not anti-semitism.

spreading one-sided, misguided propaganda is dangerous in a country that is KNOWN for islamphobia. i am making this post after hearing about 6-year old Wadea Al Fayoume who was stabbed 20+ times because of his ethnic and religious background as a palestinian-american.

i may not be a journalist anymore, but it is important to educate your peers and circles and i advise you all to look outside of our media. language is so manipulative and americans are so comfortable and miseducated that they allow themselves to overlook the power of our language in the media.

it is not a “conflict” nor a “war”. this is a genocide.

the hamas are not “terrorists” they are a liberation group. whether they are doing what is honorable is not for US, the oppressive party to decide. when you call them terrorists you side with the blantantly anti-arab agenda that americans already have instilled since 9/11. you dehumanize their desperation as victims.

history is not black & white. condemning the targeting of citizens is okay. but using that to justify ethnic cleansing is also not okay.

remember you are privileged. you will never have to see a day of war. be grateful. and live with humility. understand we live in a country that is on the wrong side of history and unless you are actively criticizing it, creating change, or continuing to educate yourself- you have no right to complain.
