Met Gala 2026: Fashion is Art 🎨

This year’s Met Gala has sparked so many opinions, but honestly that feels fitting considering the entire night was centered around art. Everyone is drawn to different forms of art for different reasons, and I think this year’s carpet reflected that perfectly.

What I loved most was seeing how differently people interpreted the theme. We saw fashion inspired by paintings, sculpture, film, texture, silhouette, and even the body itself as a canvas.
Looking deeper into the meaning and craftsmanship behind each look made the carpet so much more fascinating to me.

My favorite look: Sabrina Carpenter... I loved how she approached cinema and film as an art form. The look felt very intentional, creative, and original while still staying true to her personal style.

A few quick fun facts from this year’s carpet:

👩🏻‍🎨Emma Chamberlain’s gown reportedly used over 30 different base paint colors, took 40+ hours of painting, and required 4 days to fully dry

🤺Miles Chamley-Watson’s look was completed in under 24 hours before the carpet

🪽Kendall Jenner’s Zac Posen for Gap look began with the concept of transforming a classic white Gap tee into couture-inspired fashion

🖼️Hunter Schafer’s gown intentionally incorporated distressed details and tearing to represent the aging and deterioration of the prewar Mada Primavesi over time
