18th IDSFFK Film Festival, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala
25-30 Sept '26

A week full of Cinema, Stories, Bondings & more...💕

This year I was fortunate to have four of my films selected there... All in the competition section! 🤩
So I wanted to attend the full festival, from the opening ceremony to the awards & closing ceremony.

And it turned out to be one of the best times I've had recently! 🫶🏼
All the four directors of my films were there, a few team members joined too. And I also had the wonderful company of my partner in crime, Ketaki.

Apart from representing our own films, we also watched multiple films across all languages & formats - short fiction, short docu, long docu, animation, music video, student films. What an absolute treat! So many soulful & moving stories...🫰🏼

The bigger attraction - Getting to interact with the makers. Each of them telling stories in their own way, creating & capturing the world from their perspective... Met so many fantastic artists, who bonded over the love for storytelling! Made new friends.. 🤗

Then I had the bonus of the FTII reunion - batchmates, seniors, juniors. Some in the jury, some in competition, some in the audience. Met most of them after a long time... Thankfully that hasn't changed anything! Such a strong bond that name FTII is. 😇

And then the climax - One of my films 'Bhintila Paath' (which initially faced a rejection from CBFC) won the Best Short Fiction Award! A perfect ending to the journey...🥳
Not just that, a Special Jury Award was given to Shubhangi Bhujbal for my other film, An Oyster Life. And to add to the joy, many Marathi filmmaker friends received awards including Amey Gore and Ashutosh Jare 💓

Also Kerala State Chalachitra Academy handled the situation of dispute around the screening of some films quite well. It was reassuring to see their response to the random restrictions imposed by CBFC. Kudos to them, the festival director Sajith sir and the honourable CM of Kerala, Shri Satheesan sir. 🫡

Overall it was a feeling of great joy, satisfaction and pride! Thank you @iffklive , to my directors, fellow filmmakers and everyone 💖💖
Hope to be there again next year with our films! 🤞🏼🤞 taken in Kairali Sree Nila Theatre Complex by @shekharrankhambe

Some moments are experienced.
Some moments are lived.
And some moments stay with you forever ❤️

What a spectacular Award Ceremony it was!

Very renowned director Mr Sanju Surendran @sanju_surendran announcing our Award, then we walking towards the stage to receive the award, in front of a packed audience, on one of the most important stages of our journey — it honestly felt like a dream we were living with our eyes open.

And then came that unforgettable moment…

The Honourable Kerala Chief Minister presenting the precious award to our Director, Shekhar Bapu Rankhambe, and Team Bhintila Paath🏆

The cameras.
The applause.
The media covering the moment.
And that feeling of standing there after everything we had been through…

It was pure fulfilment☺️
