Testing viral romance books — Episode 9 ✨

I came for the unique premise, but stayed for the characters, the emotions, and everything this story had to say about grief, healing, and love 🤍

Some books entertain you while you're reading them.

Others stay with you long after you've finished the last page.

This was one of those books.

Have you read The Seven Year Slip?

Two people.
One name.
One dream job.

And absolutely no idea how they both ended up with the same appointment letter.

I went into this expecting a fun, quirky rom-com and ended up finding a story filled with heart, healing, and characters I couldn't help rooting for.

Have you ever picked up a book for the romance and stayed for the emotional depth?

QOTD : What's the most unique romance premise you've ever come across? 👀

#BookReview 45 of 2026 | 🌟🌟🌟🌟✨(4.25)/5🌟

4.25/5 ⭐

I loved it... seriously. 🥹❤️

This book has been sitting on my TBR ever since I started Bookstagram, so finally getting around to reading it was such an experience.

The characters were so interesting. I absolutely loved the FMC. She was strong, fierce, and knew exactly who she was. Both the FMC and MMC felt so real that, if we didn't know we were reading fiction, we could easily mistake them for actual people. And I think that's one of the biggest compliments you can give an author.

The honeymoon plot was so unique and is honestly perfect for anyone who loves forced proximity. Add enemies-to-lovers into the mix, and it was the cherry on top.

And the fact that I absolutely despised one particular character says a lot about the writing. Making a reader feel that much hatred for someone through words alone takes real skill.

I opted for the audiobook version and listened to the story on @storytel. It has become my favourite platform for audiobooks over the past few months, and just like every other time, I thoroughly enjoyed Cynthia Farrell's narration. She brought the characters to life beautifully and made an already wonderful story even more immersive.

Overall, I think this book absolutely deserves all the hype it has received over the years. It was such a joyful read, and I'm so glad I finally picked it up.

Got it — keeping it clean and non-spammy:
I picked up this book out of pure curiosity. I didn't even read the blurb... I just liked the vibe of the cover and got it.

But what I didn't expect was to actually enjoy the story.

Is it a Romance? No.
Is it something I usually read? No.

But surprise to myself, I was enjoying it.

The grief, the secrets, the survival... everything is so engaging.

What I expected was to read one or two chapters. What actually happened was I ended up reading 58 pages in an hour.

Testing out viral romance books • Episode 12 📚

When I received You Can't Be Serious! by @praj_hegde from @hachette_india , I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. All I knew was that it was a North-meets-South royal romance... and that was enough to get me excited.

But what I didn't expect was how invested I'd become in Aaditha & Vedveer. I literally found myself talking to them at 3 a.m. while reading. Like... how does a book even manage to do that? 😂

I absolutely loved Khoobsurat, and I'm a huge Gossip Girl fan, so the moment I read "Khoobsurat meets Gossip Girl" in the blurb, I was instantly intrigued. And somehow, it lived up to that promise.

As someone who hasn't read many Indian romances, this book made me want to pick up more desi romance. And I think that's one of the biggest compliments I can give it.

Is this a viral romance? No.
Should it be? Absolutely. 💌

QOTD: What's the last book that completely caught you by surprise? 💕

💗 On Wednesdays We Wear Pink, and apparently, we just know whether we're going to like a book or not!

Sometimes, we get this feeling that this... this is going to be a book we're absolutely going to love.
The reason can be anything.

Maybe it's the author.

Maybe it's the previous books in a series.

Maybe it's a movie adaptation that completely sold us.

Or maybe it's just one of those underrated gems that somehow finds its way to us.

These are the books I knew I was going to love before I even started reading them... and thankfully, every single one proved me right. 🩷

@authorsarahadams @srishtipub

This was such a cute, lovely romance.

I didn't go into this with very high expectations because I had a feeling it would simply be a light, feel-good read. And honestly, I was right.

The Match by Sarah Adams is a sweet, short romance that will sweep you off your feet in no time.

It has great banter, incredibly likeable characters, and a story that has more depth than I initially expected.

I absolutely loved Evie's character. She's strong, independent, and always willing to follow her heart. She never hesitates to be brutally honest, and that's something I really admired about her.

The same goes for Sam and Jake. Jake is the definition of a green flag, and Sam completely stole my heart with her adorable personality.

Overall, The Match is a quick, swoony read that will leave you smiling from ear to ear long after you've turned the last page.

@hachette_india @authoranahuang

Honestly, this is my second favourite book in the entire series. (First place will always belong to King of Pride.)

I absolutely loved Sebastian. He was everything I wanted in an MMC: confident, determined, and incredibly swoon-worthy. But that doesn't take anything away from Maya. She was strong, fierce, and unapologetically proud of who she was, which is exactly the kind of FMC I enjoy reading about.

The rivals-to-lovers romance was executed so well. The banter, the tension, the slow build-up... everything felt natural, and the chemistry between them was absolutely electric.

I've also seen a lot of discussions about the Indian representation in this book. Personally, I didn't find anything that bothered me enough to take away from the story. The characters are Indians who grew up and built their lives abroad, so it makes sense that some of their choices, perspectives, and cultural experiences would differ from those of people living in India. That's how I viewed it while reading.

Overall, this book easily takes the silver medal in the series for me. If you love rivals-to-lovers with intense chemistry, compelling characters, and plenty of tension, this one is definitely worth picking up.

As a parent, there are some moments that stay with you forever. Watching your child receive their very first bookmail is definitely one of them.

The moment we opened The Damroo Man and the Monkey Gang, my little one was instantly drawn to the vibrant illustrations. He couldn't read the words yet, but that didn't matter. He turned each page with genuine curiosity... pointing at the characters, asking questions in his own way, and creating little stories from the pictures. That's when I realized that a good children's book begins long before a child learns to read independently.

The artwork is bright, expressive, and packed with details that keep little eyes engaged. Every page invites exploration, making it easy to pause, talk, and imagine together.

What I loved most was how naturally the book encouraged us to spend quality time together. Instead of rushing through the story, we lingered over each page... laughed at the playful moments... and let his imagination lead the way... Those shared reading moments are exactly what I hope will nurture his lifelong love for books.

For me, this book will always hold a special place. Not just because it's a delightful story, but because it marked the beginning of my son's own reading journey.

Thank you @hachette_india for making his first bookmail so special. This one will always be close to our hearts.
