we follow natalie, a young woman who hates the 9-5 work world and is in dire need of spare cash for a dental operation.
she gets roped into working for ‘The Company’ as their surrogate. she is pregnant seven times over ten years and acts as a surrogate for the companies executives, so that the execs don’t have to take maternity leave (zoinks).

this book was good! some of the time jumps were a bit jarring and i wish we had spent time on different things, bUT it was a crazy book that kept me thinking. i definitely recommend this if you’re looking for an outlandish commentary on the capitalistic world we live in 😭 by @shelfspores

this book reminds me so much of “You” (Joe Goldberg) if it was done better and was much more interesting. this book will leave your skin crawling and your stomach churning as you watch David try so confidently to mean something and leave his mark on the world.
this book is a quick read, and a crazy psychological thriller. it was just what i needed to get out of my reading slump 🙂‍↕️ by @shelfspores

this book sounded so interesting and i was excited to read it. i got through it very quickly, it moves fast and is an easy read.
that being said- it’s a collection of short stories, which i wasn’t expecting. i think i let this throw me harder than i should’ve!
a lot of the stories had great moments. moments that made me gasp, and moments where the characters felt too real. however, i was left feeling like i wanted more… and not in a good way? a lot of the stories felt so incomplete and like there was room for so much more.
anywho, you may like this book! just be warned it is a short story collection of very, very loosely connected characters. by @shelfspores

reading update! 📖🪱
i’m currently reading Penance by Eliza Clark.
it’s a fictional commentary on true crime. i’m really intrigued by this, and i can’t wait to see how it turns out!

never has a book made me feel so itchy and sick to my stomach before. it got a bit meta at the end, but i thoroughly enjoyed the stories told!

i got an ARC of Peanut!
i really adored the main character! she’s odd, but it’s hard not to like her. i thought Thomas did a wonderful job building tension, but the ending didn’t really hit for me :p

i was pleasantly surprised by how much i enjoyed this book!!

upcoming books!!
super interested to see if this book lives up to the hype. i’ve been seeing it EVERYWHERE!
