Tonight, our Bristol Hospice team gathered together with our families—and my heart is so full. ❤️

Our entire team was there, including our medical directors, chaplain, nurses, social workers, CNAs, and leadership—the incredible people who make Bristol Hospice what it is.

As the Director of Community Development, I have the privilege of representing not only an amazing hospice company, but the heart and soul behind it: this phenomenal team.

I am surrounded by compassionate, genuine people who share the same passion, the same purpose, and the same goal—to provide exceptional care and support to patients and families during some of life’s most sacred moments.

What makes me especially proud is the culture we are building together. A culture of support, collaboration, respect, laughter, accountability, and truly caring for one another. It’s the kind of culture I have always wanted to be part of—and now I get to help build it.

Hospice is sacred work, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the people I get to do it alongside. 💚

✨ Shining Through the Years ✨

What a wonderful week celebrating Assisted Living Week and the incredible care partners who show up every single day for their residents. 💚

This week was filled with laughter, fun, connection, and some really special moments. But more than anything, it was an opportunity to recognize the people behind the care—the caregivers, nurses, leaders, activity teams, and staff who pour so much of themselves into making their communities feel like home.

At Bristol Hospice, we believe strong communities are built through collaboration, relationships, and a shared commitment to the people we serve.

While we are still patiently waiting for the opportunity to begin accepting patients in our Iowa market, weeks like this make us even more excited for what’s ahead. We aren’t just looking forward to working with these communities—we’re looking forward to working alongside them as an extension of their team when their residents and families need hospice support.

We want to be a partner they can call, a team they can trust, and a resource long before hospice is ever needed.

To all of our assisted living care partners: thank you for helping others shine. We loved celebrating YOU this week, and we cannot wait for the day we get to serve patients and families alongside you. 💚✨

💜 September is Suicide Prevention & Awareness Month.

This month hits differently for me this year.

On March 5th, I was driving when I saw a young kid sitting on an overpass, facing oncoming traffic below. Something told me to turn around and stop—and I did.

That day, I had the privilege of being there in a moment when someone desperately needed another human being to see them, hear them, and remind them that their life was worth fighting for. Thankfully, that young person made it off that bridge safely.

I think about that day often.

It reminded me that we truly never know what someone else is carrying. The person smiling at you, working beside you, sitting in a classroom, or telling you “I’m fine” could be fighting a battle you know nothing about.

Pay attention. Check on your people. Ask the question twice. Listen without judgment. And if something in your gut tells you someone isn’t okay—don’t ignore it.

You don’t have to have the perfect words. Sometimes you just need to be willing to stay.

Suicide prevention isn’t just something we should talk about in September. It’s something we should practice every day by creating spaces where people feel safe enough to say, “I’m not okay.”

To that 18-year-old—and to anyone who has ever felt like the world would be better without them:

Your life matters. Your story isn’t finished. There is still so much ahead of you. Please stay. 💜

I have to brag on our DPCS for a minute Desi Walczak💚

When Indiana received an influx of referrals and needed extra clinical support, she packed her bags and went. No ego. No “that’s not my office.” Just—where do you need me? Let alone, leaving behind two small girls for a week!

And THAT is the kind of leader I am so grateful to be building Bristol Iowa alongside.

At Leadership Conference, we talked so much about the three-legged stool—the ED, DPCS, and DCD—and how important it is for those three leaders to be connected, trust one another, and genuinely want each other to succeed. I walked away from that conference believing in that message even more, and this week was another reminder of why.

Growth means nothing if clinical can’t support it. Clinical can’t do it alone without operations. And none of us succeed unless we respect what each person brings to the table.

She went to Indiana to help another Bristol office care for patients, but she’s also coming home with new experiences, ideas, and knowledge that will make OUR team stronger.

That’s leadership. That’s teamwork. And that’s the culture I want us to protect as we grow. And a huge shout out to the Bristol regional team for making sure Indiana was supported!!!

I couldn’t be more proud to call her my partner in this crazy adventure of opening Bristol’s first Iowa office. We’ve waited, planned, built relationships, supported our communities, and kept believing in what’s coming.

Now get back to Iowa, girl. 😂

Today was one of those proud mom + broken heart kind of days. 💙🥹

That mother/son bond hits different . I’m so incredibly proud of the young man he’s become and so excited for everything waiting for him in this next chapter.

As hard as it is to let go, this is what we raise them for—to spread their wings, chase their dreams, make mistakes, learn, grow, and build a life of their own.

Go make it yours, Jack. Work hard, have SO much fun( but responsible ) and maybe call your mom once in a while. 😂

A piece of my heart stayed at college today, but I couldn’t be prouder. 🥹

over in the UK! 🇬🇧❤️

Mom would also like to thank everyone for all the birthday calls, texts, and Facebook messages! She received them all and loved every one of them… but she still refuses to learn how to text or respond on Facebook. 🤣

What’s that saying… you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?! 😂 Sorry, Mom! We love you!
