I am @shelleycara and this is Eloise Poppy and Charlotte Posy @eloiseandcharlotte
We can’t wait to meet all of you and make new friends.
We were born in Louisiana July 2021 and were transported after a hurricane all the way to @pawscrossedny in New York. We made a long trip!
Eloise, is a grey floofy moppet that is as sweet as can be. She melts in your hands and wants to be picked up as soon as you look at her and loves to be smothered in kisses. Charlotte is so playful and a goofball and just so lovely, she wants all the toys in the world to play with and then loves to cuddle once she’s tuckered out after playing so hard!
Eloise made the trip with her 2 precious Russian Blue brothers and Charlotte travelled with her handsome Siamese brother.
The two litters were raised together all along…
A big trip for such tiny babies but they got the very best care, so much love from their rescuers and their ahhhhhhmazing foster mama Dana @cricketandgeorgia . We are forever grateful to everyone at @pawscrossedny especially our Sue 💛 and the very best foster mama that we will love forever.
Our adoption day was on 10/9/2021 and we are all so in love.
We play hard and we sleep hard! We love each-other so much. One big cuddle puddle.

July so far, in hydrangea…

Tonight I have more to say because, well, I must…
As a Jewish New Yorker I am feeling very afraid these days.
Mamdani is getting his sound bites in and it most certainly does not tell a whole story. Not based in all fact and he is most definitely spewing hatred and trying to rile up violence.
I keep wondering why the people in my life who aren’t Jewish aren’t reaching out with words of concern or words of support in regards to Mamdani and his constant antisemitic rhetoric and his vehement wish for the destruction of Israel.
Both of the above are very different than not supporting Netanyahu and his politics (which I don’t).
They are very separate things.
I would love to know from you, if you are Jewish and read this, are non Jewish people around you offering support right now? Do they express concern over his lack of mayorship and his overreaching?
Mamdani never talks about the thousand innocent people that were massacred on October 7th. The babies set on fire. The women raped.
The tunnels. The hostages tortured for years.
He never talks about terrorism or Hamas as a terrorist organization that has caused the deaths of thousands of Gazians.
He never talks about what started the war.

Mamdani became Mayor promising New Yorkers so many things that he would never deliver on, but that would truly make our lives a bit easier on a daily basis.
It was a way for him to get power, to gain a larger platform. So that he could spew hatred and rile people up into a frenzy.
He is making life dangerous for every Jewish person because he is not stating facts. He is creating propaganda against the Jewish people disguised as anti Israel. You can be anti politician and policy. Not against a whole nation. A whole religion.
Because if you are that, guess who else was. Hitler.
He also hoped for our destruction.
I stand here. I am here. Hineni.
But where are my non Jewish friends. Coworkers. Followers. Neighbors.
Will you stand up for me. Protect me? Ask if I need support?
I wonder.

~Eloise Poppy~
Little miss floofy pants turns 5 today.
Happy birthday Birdie 🐾 🐦‍⬛ 🐾
The most affectionate little ball of fur, she is pure sugar.
Today we are going to take a look at the evolution of all this floof lol
When I brought Charlotte and Eloise home they were 3 months old and Eloise had short hair like her 2 brothers who were adopted on the same day. The difference was that she had floof in her ears and this gorgeous fluffy tail that she walks with backwards, curled over her back (and sleeps with it curled). Her foster mama @cricketandgeorgia told me about it, she said it’s like a scorpions tail (it’s still like this and it’s amazing).
Then when she was 4 and 5 months old the fur around her neck started getting so long and fluffy and then at 6 months old omg the fur on her belly and chest started growing so so long and so curly. She was morphing into a whole different kitten. It was wild to witness.
And look at her now in her floofy glory.
God bless.
When I adopted Charlotte and Eloise they were not shy at all, they were so not afraid on their very 1st day here at home. They were playing with every toy they could find and cuddling with me from day one.
Eloise is the mushiest girl ever. She would seriously cuddle 24/7 if we could.
Such a gentle soul.
I’m so grateful for their rescue. Everyday 🩶

It’s my little booper’s 5th birthday today! Can you believe it?
Charlotte Posy is one of the funniest and loving souls I have ever had the chance to be the human too.
I feel like she has all these wonderful tiny bits of all my fur babies that came before her in my life mixed in there.
She has these little weirdo traits and habits that keep me wondering so much and laughing so hard but also the most caring traits too, I wish I could show you how she tries to comfort me when I’m not feeling well.
She’s one of a kind and I’m so grateful everyday for her and Eloise. Every day.
Happy birthday Charlie! I love you cuckoo-bird.

I stopped into this local gem last week with a friend visiting from equador, we both hadn’t been there in a while.
It is a really wonderful place to shop when you are looking for something a little extra special (like for my upcoming birthday ha ha) and always has such pretty and often whimsical storefront displays.
Hope you are all enjoying the first of our Summer nights sweet friends. Hope it goes nice and slow…

Egg rolls, Egg creams & Empanadas!
Thank you @museumateldridgestreet for hosting such a fun and meaningful event each year. The LES holds a very special place in my heart, it is where my parents grew up, in tenements, just like you see when you visit the tenement museum. Born in the late 20s and both lived there until late 1948 when they married. They loved growing up here. Lives filled with stories that I loved to hear!
They looooved growing up on the Lower East Side.
It is where my grandmother continued to reside until early 2000, she was 96. The Les is the only place she lived after immigrating, coming here by boat from Europe in the 1920s.
The LES is so filled with rich history and yesterday’s event celebrated so much of it.
Lion dancing, klezmer music, the sounds of of Bomba and Salsa music…
I had my name written in Chinese (and was told it means beautiful Summer) and I had my favorite Hebrew word, Lehitraot, written by a scribe.
Don’t get me started on how amazing the guava empanadas were!
