Sunny prairies, meadows, wetlands, and lakes for miles... oh, can't forget the puffy white clouds! Those are the lovely Mission Mountains in the distance. This is Montana and it is stunning.
Thank you @lukashaydukas for the roadtrip through beautiful Flathead Valley. It's beautiful. I see why you love it.
On to the Bitterroots....

Bowman Lake. Truly an off the beaten path experience in Glacier. 35 miles of unpaved roads followed by 6 miles through a magical forest with intermittent scuba diving and crazy pot holes. (Make sure the driver's window is closed while passing another vehicle. @lukashaydukas 😂)
Stunning views across Bowman Lake, delicious bear claws from Polebridge, wonderful birdsong and happy black bears. The hike along the lake was beautiful but signs upon our arrival warned of mountain lions in the area. I was constantly peering into the woods. "Can mountain lions swim?" "Will bear spray work?" "Are they watching us?"
Thankfully no mountain lions but we saw the happiest black bear having a bear-y good lunch right next to the road.
Another enchanting Glacier experience! Thank you, Luke, for the magical journey. Now let's go back for more bear claws!!

Glacier is huge. A million acres straddling the continental divide. Towering mountains, ancient forests, turquoise lakes and big weather. We had rain, sleet, snow, wind and lots of rainbows. 🌈 The ranger told me, "If you can't see the top of the mountain through the clouds, it's gonna rain. If you CAN see it, it's gonna rain." 🫣
Glacier also has grizzlies, mountain lions, and beautiful wildflowers. 🥀 Gratefully, we only saw black bears and wildflowers.
Thank you, Luke, for the GNP adventure @lukashaydukas ❤️ It was daunting and magnificent! 🏔
And to my new Aussie family @susan.meggs it wouldn't have been the same without you.
