Dear Life,I see what you’ve been doing…And respectfully…Your aim is getting a little too good. 😒😂But here’s the thing…You can throw the curveballs.You can test my patience.You can even make me question my sanity every now and then…I’m still gonna fix my hair, grab a liquid IV, say a little prayer, and keep showing up….Nice try though. Happy Monday, sweet friends! 💙Can I remind you of something?You don’t have to have everything figured out today! You don’t have to catch up on every load of laundry, answer every text, clean every room, lose 20 pounds, save the world, and have your whole life together before lunch. (If you do… please tell me your secret. 😂)Today is simply a fresh start.A chance to reset.To refocus.To give yourself a little grace.To quit beating yourself up over yesterday and start believing in what God can do with today.Progress is still progress, even if it’s slow.One good decision is better than no decision.One step forward is still forward.So drink the coffee. Say the prayer. Make the phone call. Start the project. Take the walk. Hug your people. Laugh when you can. Cry if you need to. There’s nothing wrong with liking a compliment. I think we’re all that way. A kind word can turn an ordinary day completely around!But if you really want to make this mama’s heart smile…don’t compliment my hair or my outfit! Tell me I’m a good mom!Tell me you noticed my patience! Tell me you saw the way I love my son. Tell me you can see how hard I’m trying!Those words? They stick. They matter. They reach places the others never could.And it got me thinking…when did we get so hesitant to compliment each other? Somewhere along the way, we started keeping kind thoughts to ourselves!Maybe it’s time we normalize saying them out loud again!If you think someone is beautiful, tell them.If you admire the way they’re raising their kids, tell them.If someone is working hard, being kind, or simply showing up every day despite life’s challenges… tell them.Kindness doesn’t cost a thing, but it can mean everything to the person receiving it.Let’s bring compliments back.
