A foggy, cool morning felt like fall. The woods never fail to inspire and, if you listen in, there's lots to learn.

More #mysteries this October! Really have been enjoying the Timer Creek K-9 series (and sad that I've nearly caught up to the latest release!). When you get into a series, do you read straight through or bounce around between books/genres? What's on your #TBRPile for November? #ReadMoreBooks #Reading by @shellyjonesauthor

Where do writers get their inspiration? From the world around them of course. It's no surprise that these woods always inspire new ideas. I even carry a pen and paper with me to jot down new ideas on every walk and hike. #forestfriday #WritersLife #mystery #bookstagram by @shellyjonesauthor

My students had a blast today playing Waffles for Esther by @pandiongames in our Mystery Lit class. In this solo Journaling RPG, they play a waiter/waitress who has to figure out what happened to Esther, their best customer who's gone missing. It's a great game that spurs on their creativity and deduction skills. It also was a great lesson in clue interpretation and reading as they all had different ideas of what happened even if they found the same clues.

And yes, I do have enough sets of my own dice for all the students to use...
