Welcome!

In November of 2023, I broke my leg as a result of a hit and run accident walking across the street. I re-entered the gym community because I had spent so much time bed ridden the muscle in my body was severely atrophied. It began on crunches, hobbling from one machine to the next…

Fast forward to last December, I switched my training goals to powerlifting.

For the most part I’m mediocre, average at best….
But this is only just the beginning.

Thank you for following my journey. 🫶 by @shepullsplates

Bench is coming a long and I’m very excited to compete again and hopefully make it onto open powerlifting with data besides DQ 🤣🤣🤣 by @shepullsplates

I haven’t been in the sport long, come November it’ll only be a year.
I don’t know much but one thing I do know…

Powerlifting, especially meet prep is a lot of the same things over and over again. To some, it may feel mundane but the consistency keeps me sane. I do the movements over and over again knowing I’m laying a foundation for the future. Eventually, the program gets heavier and it feels lighter. That’s the best feeling. Consistency is the building block of success in training.
That much I do know.

Heavy triple that really ended up being a double programmed 285lbs for 1-3 reps… my goal is always the higher range but I didn’t have it today. BUT THATS OKAY because last prep I was straight up failing my deads at this point. I was still able to step on the platform and pull 302 which was almost a 40lb PR jump. Fatigue is setting in but that’s exactly where I’m supposed to be. by @shepullsplates

Heavy Triples 4 weeks out… felt so good about it I decided to go off program and immediately fumbled. 😅😅

(actually 6 but my angle on my first set was 🚮)

ABOUT A MONTH OUT!

Also, I wish IG had the original of this song. It’s such a good spooky szn song.

The song choice of the day is from The Crow which I try to watch the night before Halloween or “Devils Night” every year by @shepullsplates

I wish this was a lie, just kidding I’m enjoying the momentum way too much. BENCH IS DEFINITELY UP YALL && quickly becoming my favorite lift to train these days. I’m feeling great, 5 weeks out from my redemption meet!
