Having heard it all growing up, henna was definitely something that gave me anxiety. I think I’ve worn it maybe about twice before.

In the lead up to this event, I asked @krunaltailorhennaartist would you be able to see it on my skin. He looked at me like I was crazy 😂 and said “yes and I’m so happy you’re doing it! I wanted someone with a south Asian darker complexion.”

I trusted him not because of his henna skills but because he made me feel seen.

I flaunted around the henna that whole event to everyone who walked past our stall and never felt more powerful.

Let this be your sign to not let those comments stop you from doing anything.
