Essence Festival 2026 was one for the books, as usual!

I had the opportunity to watch my good friend Ashley Etienne in action as a special invited guest at the Essence Economic Forum. Her presentation was both insightful and inspiring, reminding us all that we must be intentional about advancing our culture and creating opportunities for future generations.

For the first time, I attended the concerts each night with VIP seating—good times for sure! The entertainment was amazing, the food never disappointed, and the camaraderie was second to none. And topping it all off by spending time with my Chi-Town people made the entire weekend even more memorable. It was truly lit!

A special shout-out to the incredible po’boys at Bourbon House and one of my all-time favorite restaurants, Blue Crab Restaurant and Oyster Bar. As always, they were absolutely bussin’! 😋

Essence Festival 2026 didn’t owe me a thing. Until next year!

I had the honor of witnessing my best friend’s son—who I’ve always looked at like a nephew—marry his lifelong sweetheart. It was an evening filled with love, joy, and unforgettable memories, bringing two Holy Ghost-filled families together as one.

Everything was beyond beautiful, and I’m truly grateful to have been there for such a special moment. I pray that God covers them, strengthens their union, and guides them as they begin this new journey together.

May they continue to build, grow, and prosper in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen Here’s to Mr. Christian Kyle and Ashley Burgs💒. #AllThingsGrea✝️ by @shermgee
