I’ve heard a lot of people complain about the masses - looking, sounding, dressing alike, traveling to the same places, even having all the same hobbies. But when they come across someone who is different, they call them weird. But to me, People aren’t curious enough. People who are curious are cultured beyond their own, possess style, an ever expanding palate for life beyond their eyes and hands, and a deep appreciation for the past, present, and future. They dont want to just “know”, they desire to understand, embrace, and immerse themselves in whatever they can grasp. Curiosity is an acquired taste. Curiosity requires action and as we know most people want the easiest way out or in. I tell my loved ones they wont have to worry about me going before I’ve experienced all of what life has to offer because I never waited, I took every opportunity to choose myself and when there wasnt a choice, it was still me.

I decided to start my collection of stories, legends, oral traditions, shared experiences, vivid memories, and most importantly all the beautiful people that welcomed me into their homes, fed me, and loved me like their own.

Forever a student of culture, life, and all the things in between. I’m on the road to being a polyglot - English and learning Yoruba, Spanish, and Portuguese (simultaneously through study, speak, tradition, religion, music, and dance) by @sherolldolo

Notes from a 42yo Baddie with Aging:

Learning to accept the things I CAN change but WON’T… at least not anymore.

I’ve tried it, although I’m not totally satisfied with the results, I know if I “tried” it again I would be trying to “balance” what is natural and unnatural. And IMO, it doesn’t work like that.
