This is the third page I completed in Circle of Life. It's from a color-along by @olga_rani. My Discord group had a palette challenge and this page fit the palette pretty well. I was happy with how it turned out! I've since seen this same page by other colorists and I think this is one of those pages that would be fun to color multiple times using different palettes.

This was the second page I completed in Circle of Life, months ago. This gorgeous page is from a color-along by @shelscolouringjourney2020. She used Tombows to base many of the elements and Albrecht Dürers both wet and dry. I didn't have either of those at the time so I made do with what I owned. I was very happy with how it turned out!

I colored this page months ago but only this week finally completed the background. And I love it! This gorgeous page is from a color-along by @mycolourfulcountrylife; I am so grateful for her amazing work.

This is also one of my favorite books. I can easily see myself coloring the entire book.

I colored this page as part of a Christmas in July buddy color along with several other Pictured Peers from @apicturedpurpose 's Discord group. It was my first time coloring a page without following a color-along, which was a little scary! So instead, I tried to recreate the beautiful page by @jens_colouring that I found on IG when looking for inspiration. When I first saw her page, I was drawn to the many green combinations, the green snow, and the gorgeous pink to orange combo.

Jenny very kindly answered my question about which pencils she had used and helped me with a green combo that I just couldn't figure out. That was enough to get me going and after that I just did my best to figure out the other color combinations, which was actually fun. The only thing I decided to color differently was the sky. I'm happy with how the page turned out!

While I was looking for inspiration I happened upon a couple other colored versions of this illustration that I would love to try to recreate as well. But there's always so much more to color!

By the way, if you're looking at the line work and think you're seeing double, you're not wrong. I copied this page into my own paper so that I'd have the option of starting over if necessary (which I did). Unfortunately my printer is printing double lines and so far nothing we've tried has worked to fix it. Hopefully I'll have a new printer soon!

It's finally done! I finished the background and the lighting effects, and then added the final effects of twinkle stickles and shimmer spray (although the photos don't show these well). Many thanks to the amazing color-along by @mycolourfulcountrylife. I could not have produced anything that looks close to this on my own, at least not this early in my coloring journey.

And thanks to my coloring friends in the Discord group with @apicturedpurpose for proposing the Junicorn buddy color!

Christmas in July! Since my unicorn page isn't finished yet, I thought I would start posting pages I colored previously. This page is the very first page I completed, finished December 31, 2025. I followed the color-along by @russelljamesart although if I remember correctly, he used alcohol markers whereas I used colored pencils. I was pretty happy with how it turned out, except for the blue background and the stars in the sky.

I was very much a newbie, having just started watching coloring videos and dabbling a little with some old colored pencils in November 2025. So to help me pick specific pencil colors, I used these cards from the coloring cubes by @sarahrenaeclark. On the backside of the cards it also showed a lighter and darker shade of each color.

I even added a little glitter gel pen in some places! by @sherrizim

On day 12 of #coloring30for30 with @apicturedpurpose I finished the giraffe page! I colored for hours yesterday and had just a bit left to go today.

This page is from the book Meine Reise durch Afrika by @rita.berman and I followed a color-along by @mycolourfulcountrylife. I didn't have Gelly Roll glaze or metallic gel pens though so I had to improvise.

I used Prismacolor pencils, Gelly Roll stardust and moonlight gel pens, and Ranger glossy accents (on the eyes).

Jungle June is now complete. Moving on to Junicorn! by @sherrizim

On day 10 of #coloring30for30 with @apicturedpurpose I finished my zebra page!

This is from Meine Reise durch Afrika by @rita.berman and I followed a color-along by @mycolourfulcountrylife.

I used Prismacolor pencils, Faber Castell soft pastels, Gelly Roll stardust and moonlight pens, and a white Posca. It was my first time doing a background and using soft pastels; it was so easy so I won't hesitate to use them again. 😍 by @sherrizim
