I couldn’t see this far 18 years ago… I honestly didn’t know that I could do this parenting thing, but WE have done it and done it to the best of our abilities.

I don’t come from a place where college was normalized, I don’t even think my parents would’ve been able to afford it, but God is so faithful in all that he does that he would grace us the opportunity to see our son take up new and foreign territory.

This has been one of the hardest and most proudest things I’ve had to go through, I cried on and off all the way home and it took me about 8 days all together to stop crying daily, you spend 18 years raising your kid to drop him off! Crazy!!! But thank you Lord!

18 years ago I walked into the hospital, I was 17 years old and scared, I was about to have a baby, I remember being confused, terrified, lost, not knowing what would become of my life because the people closest to me kept telling me that I ruined my life, my life was over, just curses and death on their tongues, ultimatums because if I didn’t give this child up, I couldn’t go back home, but I remember being scared of all these things and still deciding to give birth and keep my child anyway… I remember on the third day on the way out of the hospital my husband asking “what do you want to do?” (The hardest question I’ve ever had to answer)… to know me is to know that I haven’t regretted a day of my decision. The woman I am today would tell the girl I was then, that God is about to walk you through and they won’t even know how you did it but you did! They were right, my old life was over but this one… this one built me up, it made me strong, it filled me with purpose, it helped me learn to practice forgiveness, patience and grace, it led me back to God over and over( cause I go to war for mine), it stretched me at times but all for this day!

All I wanted was to raise a decent man, a honest man, a man of integrity, a man of good morale. I’m so honored that God chose me, and I’m so proud him, yes he’s got ways to go but today Jr is 18 years old and officially an adult (not to me) but still!🥺 I’ve been in tears all day, I can’t believe it went by so fast!

We love you Jerry! ♥️

MAY!✨ it was full of celebrations but this one takes the cake!

I was 17 and my husband 18 years old when we had my son. One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do in my life…From the time I found out I was pregnant and given an ultimatum to give him up or I had to go, I stood ten toes down, my dad literally handed me over to my husband at 17 years old, I didn’t know what the journey would be like, I was told I wouldn’t be able to do it, I was told that I made a bad decision and that my life was over… I graduated and walked across the stage days before he turned one years old and look what God did! Jr. graduated honors and top 10% of his class, proud is an understatement. Has it been a walk in the park? No, but I’ve been faithful and so has God.

And to my girl!!! We are ready to walk you through!💕

God keeps taking care of me 🥺♥️

What a day 🤍✨

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, shopped with us, and showed Solely so much love at Oaklyn Market. It was such a joy connecting with new faces, seeing familiar ones, and being part of such an amazing community of local businesses.
