I MATCHED!!! 🩺👩‍⚕️✨ Someone pinch me!

The entire match process, but especially the past 24 hours, have been an emotional rollercoaster. Stress, excitement and gratitude all at once.

This journey wasn’t just mine—it belongs to my family, to my immigrant parents who sacrificed everything to give me a chance at a better future, to the community that raised me, and to every first-generation student fighting for a dream that once felt impossible. From translating doctor’s visits as the only English speaking kid in the family, to now becoming the physician in the room, this moment is surreal 👏🏼 I DID IT. WE DID IT.

Thank you so much to my family, my friends, medschool colleagues and my yoga community. To everyone who believed in me, even when I doubted myself through MCAT and board studying, to clinical rotations and interviews. This is for all of us ❤️ I’m shaking as I write this, but am so happy!

Now, the waiting game until Friday to find out WHERE I’ll be practicing medicine for the next three years 🥹❤️ #Match2025 #MedStudent #FirstGenDoctor #paraustedesyporustedes taken in Miami, Florida by @sheyy2020

Para ustedes, por ustedes 🎓🩺✨

I FINALLY graduated medical school, but this degree belongs just as much to my parents as it does to me. For every sacrifice, every sleepless night, every unspoken worry—you carried me here.
Gracias por todo, te amo mami y papi. We did it 🥹❤️ @laly_alvarez1 @ernestotendero

Next stop residency, if you’d like to support this next chapter my RESIDENCY WISHLIST is in my bio 🥲😉
