Not even sure how to put my thoughts into words. Five years ago I had 10 dancers that were crazy enough to join me as I started @shiftdanceco . Throughout the years I’ve had a total of 35 company members and so many youth from all over Utah. I’ve been so blessed to create with and be inspired by every single one of them. If you’ve been in rehearsal with Shift, you know how special it was.
My hope with Shift was that we could create a safe space where dancers could connect, create, laugh, cry, love dance, and make the audience feel just that. I wanted to “Shift” the dance community and bring more light and love back into such a sometimes heavy and intense space. I wanted our audiences to leave feeling more at peace and ready to spread that light. While it hasn’t been an easy task doing it while also raising my little family, I wouldn’t change a thing. The people that have come into my life because of Shift are incredible and I’m so lucky. They love my family like their own and my kids love them all just the same. Sitting front row cheering on my company has been such a joy and has been so therapeutic. I’m so grateful for the five years of Shift and am so proud of what we created. by @shiftdanceco

Wow, what a tough caption to write…

These girls, this company, mean the world to me. It’s so hard to say goodbye. Megan has been a mentor and a friend for almost 13 years but as hard as it is to close this chapter, every person that I have met on Shift has become a friend for life.

5 1/2 years, 9 shows, 4 videos, and countless rehearsals later, Shift dance company is closing its doors for good. Lord knows I would have stayed forever because Shift is truly something special. I will be chasing the feeling for the rest of my life.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who showed up for us over the years. There is so much love and support felt during these performances. And thank you, @megan_warnick, for all of it.

Shift dance company has touched so many lives over the years and I know mine is forever changed.🖤 by @shiftdanceco
