I’m sure you know we lost Dolly today. Hell, we lose people every day and it’s not getting any easier. But what we lost today simply cannot be replaced. A megastar whose roots and humility ran so deep that she never lost sight of what was important. As a champion of literacy, her Imagination Library program guaranteed children a chance to read without the barrier of cost or location. When Whitney Houston made her millions of dollars, she simply invested that money in the Black community.
