everyone who knows me definitely knows opal. to anyone who has had the pleasure of knowing opal knows that she’s the kindest, sweetest, and smartest girl. i am so grateful to have been able to start her journey of something greater, and i know she will change lives.

to opal:

i remember how hesitant i first was at the thought of raising, but with you it came so easily. after 170 days of constant companionship, we both move on to a new step. from the beginning, i knew this day was going to come and i thought id be prepared, but its never that easy. i love you more than i can express with words, and will miss you more than you know. it was supposed to be my job to train you, but you taught me so much as well. i was never one to be too patient, but with you i had to slow down and take it one step at a time. i’ll miss the way you approach everyone and everything with a happy face, and i’ll miss how you would always want to go where i go. i’ll miss your antics with millie, and how you’d always try to be friends with everyone you met (human or not). i’ll miss how you always slept on my feet as i was staying up to study, or how you’d always be watching whenever i whip something up in the kitchen. i’ll miss how you were my shadow and never hesitated to go places, trusting me with everything you have. most of all, i’ll miss my best friend.

this past semester was a whirlwind but there’s no one else i’d rather have had by my side. i will always be cheering you on, and a part of my heart stays with you. i know you will do me so proud, and im so excited to see what the future holds for you. do good, be good my sweet girl. 💖 by @shimmering.opal.gdf
