On 2 July 2026, Shine Camera Club was honoured to be invited to @wimbledon by @princeandprincessofwales where the children were given the unique opportunity to document one of the world’s most iconic sporting events through their own creative lens.

During the visit, the young photographers also met Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales, sharing their work and speaking about their experiences as members of Shine Camera Club.

We are so grateful and delighted at the opportunity which has shine a beautiful light on the work we do and continue to provide @shinesaturdayschool bringing creative and cultural opportunities to children in Mitcham.

You can see the exhibition during The Championships at @elyswimbledon on the 2nd Floor.

Shine Camera Club spent the day exploring the @southbankcentre with their @catchcameras in hand, capturing the energy, movement and beauty of the city. 📸

We were joined by @alibton who shared brilliant tips and tricks to help our young photographers build confidence and get creative with their cameras.

With sunshine, laughter and plenty of shots taken throughout the day, it was a perfect reminder that photography is all about curiosity and having fun.

Big thank you to Ali from @catchcameras by @shinecameraclub

Shine Camera Club got the chance to experience South Asian cuisine while exploring and responding to the images captured by the young photographers from the @cpbprism @chennaiphotobiennale for this year’s exhibition.

At Shine, we believe photography is more than taking pictures, it’s about experiencing different cultures and subcultures, connecting with communities and learning how to translate emotion and imagery into words. Through conversations, food and photography, our young people were encouraged to think deeply about the world around them and the stories photographs can tell. by @shinecameraclub

2026 marks 5 years of Shine Camera Club and a new cohort of young photographers ready to photograph their environment.

This year, we are expanding beyond borders. In collaboration with @cpbprism part of @chennaiphotobiennale foundation, young people from Mitcham and Chennai will come together for a cross-cultural exchange sharing perspectives on photography and community and everyday life through online sessions and cultural dialogue.

We are excited to see where these conversations lead, with the work set to be featured in this year’s exhibition.

Huge thank you to @catchcameras and @elys for continuing to support and make this project possible this year. by @shinecameraclub
