A mother's love is nutritional; it is the fruit that feeds our soul.
A mother's love 'IS' true love, and from her heart, she cannot lie.
A mother's love is eternal, the kind that wont' ever die.
A mother's love is the tie that binds, and her bond can never be broken.
A mother's love is branded in our hearts, even when her words aren't spoken... ❤️

Condolences, heartfelt and sincere,
meant to comfort and commiserate
are just weak gestures
etiquette prescribed
unable to provide relief
for the massive grief, you feel.

Know this though my friend
your Mother is still with you
forever in your heart
and in the very marrow
of your bones
where blood is born.

GRIEF LASTS AS LONG AS LOVE LASTS 💞

There is something about losing a mother that is permanent and inexpressible—a wound that will never quite heal. 💔

For Grief...
When you lose someone you love,
Your life becomes strange,
The ground beneath you becomes fragile,
Your thoughts make your eyes unsure;
And some dead echo drags your voice down
Where words have no confidence
Your heart has grown heavy with loss;
And though this loss has wounded others too,
No one knows what has been taken from you
When the silence of absence deepens.

Flickers of guilt kindle regret
For all that was left unsaid or undone.

There are days when you wake up happy;
Again, inside the fullness of life,
Until the moment breaks
And you are thrown back
Onto the black tide of loss.
Days when you have your heart back,
You are able to function well
Until in the middle of work or encounter,
Suddenly, with no warning,
You are ambushed by grief.

It becomes hard to trust yourself.
All you can depend on now is that
Sorrow will remain faithful to itself.
More than you, it knows its way
And will find the right time
To pull and pull the rope of grief
Until that coiled hill of tears
Has reduced to its last drop.

Gradually, you will learn acquaintance
With the invisible form of your departed;
And when the work of grief is done,
The wound of loss will heal
And you will have learned
To wean your eyes
From that gap in the air
And be able to enter the hearth
In your soul where your loved one
Has awaited your return

My mom lub lub (love) me 💞 We loved with a love that was more than love.

It was an honor and a blessing to have worked with James Lew on Made in Chinatown 🙏 ✨️ RIP @dragonmasterjames @madeinchinatownmovie

James Lew has sadly passed away.

Martial artist, actor, stunt performer, and fight coordinator Lew built an extraordinary career across some of Hollywood’s biggest action films. His work can be found in Big Trouble in Little China, The Last Samurai, Inception, The Expendables 2, G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Avengers: Endgame, among many others.

For decades, he was one of those faces — and talents behind the action that helped make movies unforgettable.

Rest in peace, James Lew 🙏 😢 💔

Thanks to director @evanschanny (my first Hong Kong film "Bauhinia"), I had the honor to meet legendary Hong Kong director Stanley Kwan in NYC promoting his film Center Stage (which inspired Wong Kar-wai to make "In the Mood for Love). International superstar Maggie Cheung (In the Mood for Love) embodies tragic screen siren Ruan Lingyu, known as the "Greta Garbo of China," in this unconventional biopic by Hong Kong New Wave master Stanley Kwan (Rouge).
Anita Mui won Best Actress awards at major ceremonies for her critically acclaimed role as the ghostly courtesan Fleur in the 1987 romantic drama film Rouge.

Kwan's first film, Women (1985), which starred Chow Yun-fat, was a big box-office success.

Kwan's films often deal sympathetically with the plight of women and their struggles with romantic affairs of the heart. Rouge (1987), Full Moon in New York (1989), Center Stage (1991), a biopic on silent film star Ruan Lingyu and Everlasting Regret (2005), are all such typical Kwan films. Red Rose White Rose (1994) is an adaptation of a novella of the same name by Eileen Chang. The film was entered into the 45th Berlin International Film Festival. His 1998 film Hold You Tight won the Alfred Bauer Prize and Teddy Award at the 48th Berlin International Film Festival.
