| Battle of Isted | July 24-25, 1850 | Today I have the pleasure of sharing an incredible collaborative build with you all, that I am proud to be apart of. Massive credit to fellow builders @natelego_ , @carson_brix_1 , @koscheilego , @h2brick , @mclovinit_brix and @hunter.a.clarke for their contributions to this ambitious project. Displaying this at brickfair was a blast, and couldn’t have asked to share it with a better group of people.The Battle of Isted took place over the course of two hot, humid days in the summer of 1850. Isted is a small town in Flensburg, this being within the Schleswig-Holstein region of modern day Germany. This battle stems from the rebellion of the Duchies of Schleswig and Holstein in 1848 against the Danish government that had been ruling over the region. Thus began the First Schleswig War, where Schleswig-Holstein and other Prussian allies would fight the Danes for 4 years, one of these battles taking place in the small town of Isted. The Schleswig-Holstein forces sought to maintain their defensive lines around the town against the much larger attacking force of the main Danish army, which also included a body of the Danish Royal Guard (black uniforms and hats) and Swedish-Norwegian volunteers. The battle would end without much of a decisive outcome. Battle of Dybbøl—————————1864—————————What an amazing build this collab turned out to be. Huge credit to fellow builders, @carson_brix_1 @natelego_ @koscheilego @milo_bricks and @h2brick for putting this beautiful build together. It was a pleasure working with you guys. Photos 1, 3-9: Max 10: Matt 2: Nate—————————The battle of Dybbøl, part of the 2nd Schleswig war between the Danish and Prussians, was a war fought over the territory of the Duchy of Schleswig. This territory is a part of modern day Germany, bordering on Denmark, and was annexed by the Danish king Christian IX in 1863. Following this annexation, Prussia and Austria decided to invade Jutland (main regions of modern day Denmark being northern and southern Jutland) in January of 1864. Dyybøl was a siege from April 2-18 of that year, with the depicted battle taking place on the 18th. From 02:00-10:00 that morning, the 126 guns of the Prussian forces bombarded the Danish positions, after which came a massive charge from all flanks. Apart from a counter attack of the Danish 8th brigade, the Prussians rolled over the outnumbered Danes, pushing them back to the island of Als (an island just off the south-eastern coast of Jutland). From these captured positions, the Prussians prepared their attack of the remaining Danish forces in June of 1864.—————————Glad to be building again and have something to post for you guys. Night Captors | Winter 1942 | Leningrad Oblast | -Three Wehrmacht soldiers on patrol return to their captured house outside Leningrad (now St. Petersburg, Russia) with an unexpected surrendered guest.-Hello again! Finally I got the chance to photograph this scene, it’s been a struggle with being away for school. The other three photos show some of the snowy layering of the landscape, the mess behind the house, and all the minifigures used in the scene. Maine 1766---Hello everyone! Feels great to be back with something new finally, even though it’s a little small. Anyway, this scene depicts two friendly trappers who stumbled across a pair of Native Americans building a fire next to their teepee in the forest, and they decide to share the fire for a night. A really simple forest scene, but I thought I’d experiment with some cool lighting. Also made some genuine leather accessories for the trappers, including a satchel that turned out nicely. | Overrun | July 1944 | French Hedgerows | -Hello everyone! I’m finally back with another scene for all of you. Although not very original theme-wise, I thought it’d be cool to take a crack at an action scene. Depicted here is a modified M4 Sherman “Rhino” cutting through a section of thick French hedgerows, guns ablaze, to surprise the German Fallschrimjägers manning a defensive machine gun position. -The “Rhino” variant of the M4 Sherman was developed by the US 79th Infantry Division to counter the infamously dense French hedgerows. These hedgerows divided much of Normandy’s farmland into chunks owned by farmers, and were able to easily conceal German defensive positions and create choke points. The Rhino idea was very popular, and was eventually fitted to nearly three-quarters of the American tanks present in France. -I hope you guys like the scene! -2020--Well it’s safe to say it’s been quite the interesting year. Hopefully 2021 brings some new parts of regular life back, but we can only wait and see. I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout the year, even with the lack of posts. I hope that 2021 allows me to find more inspiration and drive to build, because I still do love it, and I love sharing these things with everyone here. :Sunrise Scouting:-A squad of clone troopers from the 501st Legion and ARF troopers accompany their Jedi general on a scouting mission in search of an abandoned Separatist base. -Unfortunately, the moc I’m working on right now is going to be delayed, as I underestimated the amount of pieces I had to order to finish it. | Caen Normandie, France July 1944 ———Hello everyone, today I finally have another moc for you all. This moc depicts Canadian soldiers and a fully outfitted Canadian Sherman tank advancing along a road through the Norman capital city of Caen. The soldiers are passing by a tall city château with high ceilings and large blown out windows. A German soldier of the 12th SS Hitlerjügend division (the division that was defending the city) lays dead in front of the door step. If you guys would like more info on the battle of Caen, please do revisit my Operation Charnwood moc from last April. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make an interior for the château, as an interior would’ve taken away from the detail that is visible on the outside. M4a2 Sherman Medium Tank—This is my take on the infamous American M4 Sherman medium tank. Next to it is a Canadian soldier, as the tank is a part of the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division that fought in Normandy (moc coming soon!). Inspiration for the suspension system from @tangy_kiwi_lego . Hope you guys like it!—The M4 Sherman was an American medium tank that was produced from 1942-1945 to directly counter the constantly improving tank design and production capabilities of other nations throughout the 1930s, especially Germany. The thought of war looming in the distance for the American military, (even though the public was against it at the time, though that changed after Pearl Harbour) pushes them to begin designing a new tank in 1940. After the USA was dragged into the war by Japan, production of the tank began in full force, with the first models rolling out of factories in mid-1942. The Sherman would replace the largely dreadful design of the M3 Lee tank that the British were being forced to use in North Africa against the Germans. The immense development period was due to the need for the tank to be as structurally sound as possible. Every part on the tank had to be engineered to last as long as possible, and be easily fixable if damaged in battle. This made the Sherman a very versatile and easy-to-repair vehicle, increasing it’s survivability and allowing for mass production of the tank. The first Sherman’s arrived in North Africa for use by the British, and later with its own country’s troops. In North Africa, the Sherman performed quite admirably against the German Afrika Korps and Italian tanks, as most (but not all) of their ranks were made up of lighter tanks. The Sherman would go on to serve in almost every Allied army and theatre throughout the war; from the Italian campaign to the fight for France, in the Pacific campaigns, and even with the Soviets in the east. Fallen Comrade-In this scene, a group of Canadian soldiers grieve the loss of a friend after a combat encounter. His freshly filled in grave has been marked with a wooden cross. This build takes place during the middle stages of the liberation of the Netherlands, in January of 1945. -Built this for school back in December, and since you guys voted on it, I thought I might as well post it. It’s basically filler. I was making a Canadian CMP FAT artillery truck for it, but that didn’t work, which is why there’s so much space. Anyways, hope you guys like it. by @ship_raider

-| Leyte Island | Philippines | Oct. 1944 |--The retaking of the Philippines during WW2 was one of the highlights for the American military in the Pacific. They were finally able to eradicate the Japanese defenders who had claimed the island following the attack on pearl harbour nearly 3 years ago. The invasion of Leyte Island would be the starting point for this liberation, and the site of an epic naval battle, involving none other than the Japanese super battleship, Yamato (and her fleet). The ensuing naval battle would be the largest in history, and would finish off any hopes of the Japanese Navy putting up a fight for the last 10 months of conflict. by @ship_raider
