We finally made it to Arizona just in time to celebrate the holidays with my family. We camped in Safford, Arizona, with my brother on Christmas Eve. He ended up sleeping on our back deck on an air mattress under our rain tarp, as it was lightly drizzling that night. It felt really nice to exhale after a few days of driving, and my parents' house was especially peaceful. taken in Safford, Arizona by @shivainthewild

We stopped through White Sands National Park on our third day of travel to Phoenix. We were surprised that it had only been established as a National Park in 2019!

We had just left Austin, TX, to finally begin living on the road full-time. We were headed to Phoenix to visit some family for the holidays, and our first layover on this multi-day drive was a high-desert spot called Caverns of Sonora. We were living in Austin at the time and wanted to get away for the holiday. We drove down to Padre Island National Seashore and spent a few days playing in the ocean, chasing crabs, and making some mean meals.

If you haven't been to the national seashore, it's a 10/10 spot to camp. First-come, first-served, and it's relatively cheap to camp if you have a national park pass. taken in Padre Island National Seashore by @shivainthewild
