Pencil sketch on 100gsm paper of Bodhisattva Maitreya, schist from Gandhara. 2nd- 4th century sculpture from the Kushana Dynasty. Absolutely got awestruck when I saw this finely detailed sculpture at V&A London. Was working on this drawing for so long now. Completed today finally.

Kushana sculptures were an exquisite blend of indigenous artistic traditions blended seamlessly with Greco-Roman aesthetics. by @shivaliangural

It is really surprising sometimes to know that nobody these days asks their friends or loved ones what their favourite flower is. Well, I have been one of them too, never asked (in both senses). I felt I would be laughed at if I mentioned this question in front of anyone. But I feel we all must do.

Hence, I wanted to share today that my favorite flower has always been Bougainville. Tiny soft, creamy flowers hidden inside paper thin, fiery bright leaves. They bloom in the harshest sun and don't ask for human commitment. They truly rely on nature. They don't produce any scent that asks for attention, rather their wild foliage and effortless beauty tells how being carefree can be captivating.
