allow me to reintroduce myself 💁🏾‍♀️

for those that have followed me on here for over a decade, watching me flourish as a portrait & wedding photographer, you’ll know how deeply I care about making my clients feel seen. Capturing their unique love allowed me to tell their story through my lens - a trait shared with the art of filmmaking.

Things might start to look a little different here as I integrate my perspective on film/tv into my feed & I hope you’ll stay along for the wild ride I’m sure it’s about to be.

Dorothy x Wizard of Oz 🌈

I will be the first to admit that some of these are probably just happy coincidences but I felt like this invisible string might be worth exploring so I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did concocting this theory 🙃

I was in disbelief walking out of @dorothythefilm 🤯

Through twisted roads, @ksubbaraj takes us on a journey of self reflection that is desperately underrepresented in Indian cinema. Intentional imagery, a masterclass in acting, a haunting score & soundtrack, and cinematography that makes you take mental notes - there isn’t a piece of film that has moved me like this in awhile.

step behind the curtain to enter the world of DDN 💃🏾🕺🏽

Directed by @smritimundhra, Bollywood Dance U takes you on stage with 2 rival college Bollywood dance teams (@utdlaksh & @utdraftaar) on their journey to their Super Bowl: @ddnlegends 🏆

It dissects the mental fortitude, endurance, and passion demanded from team members while shedding a light on the cultural context that sometimes prevents them from achieving it.

a lawless western centered around fatherhood & faith

Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother starring @mahershalaali is an exhilarating examination of grief, purpose, and Islam. Writer/Director Bassam Tariq (@curry_crayola) presents innovative discourse & imagery offering a fresh perspective in a saturated genre.

a sentimental story of sisterhood empowered by Filipino mythology 🇵🇭✨💙💜 @forgottenislandmovie’s final act is bound to get you in your feels 🥹

this is a historic win for Filipino stories & representation: from the stellar voice cast to the soul-stirring score - this is the type of intentional filmmaking that inspires others to dream of the impossible.

cultural authenticity oozes out of every aspect of @forgottenislandmovie but one of my favorite intentional choices is @nathanmdavid’s score 🎶🇵🇭

collaborating with indigenous Filipino artists and using instruments that carry their own ancestral legacy - the film’s score is unlike anything you’ve heard of, and purposefully so.

in conversation with @joel.crawford.art and @janimatedultd (Directors/Writers of @forgottenislandmovie) about the location scouting they did in Manila to paint a vividly accurate picture of Filipino culture & community 💙💜
