My dad. Gosh, he was just the coolest guy. He’s gone off to be star stuff now. Mesothelioma was a very evil and painful way to take such a big, giving, wonderful life. It was an honor to take care of him til the end. So much more I want to say, but it’s all still trapped in my broken heart. My sis wrote the most incredible eulogy. I would love for you to know that an absolutely incredible person was on this earth. He said he wanted to be most remembered for doing good, for being good, and he accomplished that and more. If you are lost in grief and need help, I’d like to recommend a few things that helped me, continue to help. Have the book, Grief is a Sneaky Bitch, by @lisakeefauvermsw on your shelf. It’s a pick up and read the section you need, as often as you need it, kinda read. Listen to the podcast, All There Is, with @andersoncooper @allthereis I’ve listened many times leading up to dad’s death and I plan to listen to them all again. I also really loved the book, Briefly Perfectly Human, by @alualoveslife. It gave me so much insight and comfort in preparation for death, I also read it several times.If you happen to be in a giving mood, even for someone you may not have ever met, dad wanted people to donate to @wckitchenChoose love. 🔊sound on . . . Happy World Ocean Day! (Every day, I mean that second breath you just took is thanks to the ocean and who doesn’t love breathing?!).Thankful to humans like these. They took just an hour of their day to volunteer here in our community in downtown Oly. They stopped 9,798 toxic cigarette butts from entering our Budd Bay, the Puget Sound and eventually the ocean. The whole ‘Think Globally, Act Locally’ is real. Plus, volunteering definitely helps with a feeling of hope in this politically charged country where being an activist for clean water, healthy beaches and biodiverse protected oceans is seen as being a trouble maker. We won’t give up doing good things for our community and our planet to ensure a livable planet for generations to come. With only around 10 individuals left, the vaquita is the most endangered marine mammal on Earth.If you’re wondering what you can do to help, here are a couple great ways to get started:1. Spread the word!📣 Help us raise awareness about the vaquita and sustainable fishing by telling your friends and family, posting about it, etc.2.
