Back in December, I got the GRAND opportunity from adidas India to create & hand-paint a custom pair as a special gift for Lionel Messi. 🥹🥹 The brief was clear — bring a maximal desi Indian aesthetic onto a global silhouette: the classic adidas Superstars ❣️ This piece is everything I had — my heart, my soul, my obsession with Indian maximal art. Painted this homage to Max Verstappen for a die-hard fan. 🏁 The left shoe features the unmistakable Red Bull colours and logo, Max’s car details, graphics, and of course, his new race number 3. On the right shoe, I painted Max himself in one of his celebration moments. BUT my favourite detail has to be the subtle yet bold outline of the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps running across the side. It’s one of Max’s favourite tracks, and I love how it ties the whole design together! What do you think of this pair? It doesn’t get bigger than this! I’ve been holding onto this one for a while, but this still feels unreal and MUST be documented. I got commissioned by adidas India to paint a pair of indie vibrant truck-art inspired sneakers that were gifted to Messi during his India visit in December 🥹 To design and paint my own artwork for Messi is a HUGE milestone for an independent artist like me, i can’t even comprehend properly!
