Come see @clariontheatre's Two Great Musicals, One Great Show! Oct. 16, 17, 18, 24, 25 @ Grants Pass Performing Arts Center

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Hey everyone!
I am delighted to be part of the @clariontheatre cast for "Two Great Musicals, One Great Show!" which features two original one-act musicals; "Fairhaven" by John Sleadd and "In Time" by Maxwell Bruhn. Both are Christian playwrights right here in Southern Oregon!

This whole experience has been super eye opening and has given me awesome chances to share my talents and help lift up the people around me. I'm so grateful that the Lord blessed my life in this cool way to be a part of this production! 😊

My heart is just bursting with appreciation for our incredibly wonderful cast and crew! I'm playing lead characters in both musicals, so you should totally come watch me sing, act, and even dance! Both shows really focus on faith, family, and trusting in the Lord and His timing.

Fairhaven is gonna make you laugh, and In Time is really going to make you feel... and probably cry. We're hoping you'll leave the show humming the tunes and feeling even more connected to the Savior. Jesus Christ our redeemer lives!

We'll be doing 5 live performances at the Grants Pass Performing Arts Center October 16, 17, 18, 23, and 24. Tickets can be purchased online at clarionor.org or at the box office.

I hope you can make it! taken in Grants Pass Performing Arts Center by @shomtastic1000

@clariontheatre presents the cast of "Two Great Musicals, One Great Show!" Featuring two new original musicals "Fairhaven" by John Sleadd and "In Time" by Maxwell Bruhn.

Show opens on October 16th at the Grants Pass Performing Arts Center!

Show dates:

• Friday October 16th @ 7pm
• Saturday October 17th @ 7pm
• Sunday October 18th @ 3pm
• Friday October 23rd @ 7pm
• Saturday October 24th @ 3pm

Tickets at: ClarionOR.org

• Fairhaven:
A revolution has taken place, and the Collective Control Council now governs society. Fairhaven has been established as a work and reeducation facility where residents (inmates) are drugged into forgetfulness and indoctrinated in Council Think (thinking what the Council wants them to think).

The residents expect to be assimilated into society, if they are fully compliant with their reorientation. Little do they know what that assimilation really entails, or that demons lurk behind the scenes. Milly, the newest Fairhaven resident, becomes a defiant dissident after being visited by guardian angels, who tell her she is to lead an escape.

The clash between light and dark, good and evil, freedom and tyranny, plays out within Fairhaven in zany and supernatural ways.

• In Time:

Psalm 139:16: ‘Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before I came to be.’

Our days are numbered. That fact, at times, can be a source of great anxiety, or truth from which we take immense comfort. The knowledge that, regardless of how we understand or observe it, our Creator is dictating our steps forward. But how do we choose to move? What decisions do we make to use the time we’re given, knowing that it will end?

What do you do when that time runs out, and you’re left to pick up the pieces instead?

IN TIME investigates this very premise.

Maxwell Bruhn's debut musical is brilliant and will leave the audience in need of tissues. The theme of this performance is applicable to so many of us, but God's story is redemptive and we can find hope and new purpose in the premier of this "ashes to beauty" story.

Hope to see you there!

And that's a wrap! This was my first time designing and building a set. I learned a lot in the process and loved the final result!

Swipe to the end to see how it all started...

What a memorable and exciting experience to have shared with the fantastic cast, crew, and orchestra of @oneeleventheatre's Daddy Long Legs! Thank you to everyone who made this show possible and to all who came to support this remarkable show full of tender moments, laughter, and love. To my wife Katie (@flora.plantrants) for being the music director while also juggling a master's program, @radiantsouthernsun for being yet again the best producer ever and making all the logistics happen, @ericaballet for the opportunity to set design and trusting me to bring creative vision into reality, Andrew for illuminating us with your deLIGHTful presence, @initial_kitten (the promo photos were magnificent!) @tylerjward_ (probably the hardest working sound engineer in Josephine County), @emily_ward3016 (every single prop was perfect and so thoughtfully selected; I may have built the set, but you made it so beautiful!) Ruth (the costumes were absolutely stunning!), all of our volunteers, amazing musicians, sponsors, family, friends, and of course the wonderful @jkrull04 and @rjlkostrna for truly bringing Jervis & Jerusha to life and transporting us into their world. Night after night, even after seeing the whole show nearly 15 times (which includes rehearsals), I still felt the emotional impact every time. Ya'll are amazing storytellers. Well done to all. To anyone I missed, I sincerely thank you for your contributions. I am sad that it's over, but so happy that it happened. I guess I am a Theater person now 😆 Until next time! 🎭 taken in Grants Pass, Oregon by @shomtastic1000

Homerun will be out on all streaming platforms, May 1st 2026.

This song is near and dear to my heart. The lyrics take us on a journey of redefining self worth by moving away from performance, failure, and outside opinions, and toward a deeper belief that your value is already secure.

At times I've felt trapped in a mindset where every mistake counted and every success was used to justify belonging. As a result, pressure to prove my self worth led to anxiety, self-sabotage, and negative self talk.

Then I learned something from my therapist that I'll always remember:

My self worth has never, and can never change. In the eyes of my loving Heavenly Father, He has loved me for longer than I can even fathom. My self esteem may fluctuate, but how I feel does not change who I am.

Homerun is dedicated to reframing personal worth, potential and eternal identity; not as something earned, but something inherent and unchanging.

Worth isn’t tied to success or failure.
You don’t have to prove anything to deserve love or belonging.

The “Homerun” analogy is a powerful metaphor. It's not about perfection or always winning, but about showing up, taking the swing, and embracing who you are without fear of striking out.

I am enough. You are enough. taken in Grants Pass, Oregon by @shomtastic1000

Well folks, Anastasia closed a week ago. How's everyone holding up? 😅

I am grateful. My heart mourns that we've taken our final bows on the Anastasia stage, but this cast, crew, and story make my heart glad to have been along for such a lovely ride.

Amazing. Astonishing. Alive.

Honestly, being a part of this production has been one of the most enriching and positive experiences in my life. If you had told me 6 months ago that I'd be singing and dancing on stage in a musical, I would have laughed. About a year ago I was struggling pretty badly with depression, anxiety, rejection sensitivity, and my physical, social, mental and spiritual health were not doing so great. I still have rough days, who doesn't? But they are fewer and far between.

Thankfully with a lot of prayer, therapy, and emotional support from mostly my incredible wife Katie @flora.plantrants , I endured and came out the other side.

Better. Bolder. Braver.

I gave everything I had to this show. My voice, my time, my pain, my soul. I felt called and inspired to come out of my shell, push through the social anxiety, and for the first time in a long time, give 110% to a creative community project that stretched my abilities. Who knew so many of my dormant seldom ever used skills would translate so well to live theater? Besides playing gigs with my band, believe it or not, this was my first time performing on stage since highschool. (Class of 2010 woot woot, where my millennials at? Haha)

The long nights. The late rehearsals. Learning and relearning how to read sheet music and sing harmonies in an ensemble. (Shout-out to Josh, Lill, and Jacob for literally being the best Tenor Bros ever.)

Choreography. Costumes. Curtain Call.

Thank you so much to everyone at @oneeleventheatre for pouring your hearts and souls into this show. Tiana, Erica, Rachel, Kristin, Brandon, Stephanie, Emily, Tyler, Ron, John, the list goes on and on. To all cast and crew reading this. You made this a healing and invigorating experience for me, and countless others.

Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Thank you all. For ev taken in Grants Pass Performing Arts Center by @shomtastic1000
