One of the key design principles of ShootVision is you can document as little as you need to communicate your vision, or as much - with detail of locations, creative team, styling and colour. We have just broadened the facilities for defining hair and make up. You can specify a few words, or a reference image, or use the high end face chart editing, including charts and images generated from the shoot brief, and product references. It is all fully built into ShootVision, but in addition we are contemplating making the MUA workspace available as a freestanding app. MUAs, what do you use? Would you be interested in helping us refine a world class MUA workspace tool? by @shootvision_moodboard

Help! While probably not the most exciting feature of ShootVision, have just done a complete overhaul of the help system. It is now more comprehensive, easier to read, context sensitive (you get the help about the page you are on), and more intelligent in response to more general ‘Ask ShootVision’ questions. Also improved the support routes when the Help System still doesn’t answer your question. Would appreciate your thoughts. What would make ShootVision even easier to use so you can focus on the creative process and shoot planning? by @shootvision_moodboard

ShootVision is alive! We are now in the ‘soft launch’ period, allowing people to try out features in the free trial and sign up to subscriptions (link in bio). Looking forward to hearing your feedback. If there are things you would like to see, or could be smoothed out to suit your workflow, please drop suggestions below or in the Feature Suggestions channel in the app. Looking forward to hearing about what you create! by @shootvision_moodboard

Stress-free shoots aren’t luck, they’re planned.

ShootVision takes you from moodboard to call sheet in one place, so your whole team knows exactly what’s happening before you even step on set.

Less chaos. Better shoots.

Try it for yourself.

Art history is one of the richest sources of inspiration for photography, but it’s not always easy to explore in a practical way when planning a shoot.

As part of ShootVision, we’ve built a visual search feature that lets you start with an image and find others that feel similar. Not just by subject, but by composition, colour palette, lighting and overall mood.

The library currently includes 40,000+ works from major museums and galleries, with palette extraction and visual similarity built in. It’s designed to help you move quickly from reference to idea to moodboard.

We liked this capability enough that we’ve also released it as a standalone tool, Visual Echo (free to use, with a daily search limit):

Genuinely interested to hear how useful this feels in practice. by @shootvision_moodboard

Most shoots aren’t planned in one place.

They’re scattered across:
notes
screenshots
messages
emails
and mental checklists.

ShootVision brings moodboards, planning and collaboration into one clear visual workspace.

Launching April 2026.

Follow @shootvision_moodboard for early access.

Creative work rarely begins organised.

It starts with fragments.
A painting. A runway reference. A colour. A texture.

Alone, they’re just images.
Together, they become direction.

The shift happens when inspiration is shaped deliberately.
When mood, styling, colour and narrative are aligned.

ShootVision is built for that part of the process.

Not just planning the shoot.
Structuring the vision behind it.

Beta is open through March. by @shootvision_moodboard

ShootVision has entered beta.

Over the past months, the focus has been simple: build something structured enough to support creativity without constraining it.

This is what a real shoot looks like inside the system.
Concept, logistics, collaborators, call sheets. In one place.

Beta is not a public launch.
It’s a working phase with a small number of photographers and creative teams who run real shoots and want to shape how this evolves.

If you care about structure as much as ideas, and you’re willing to test it properly, I’d like to hear from you.

Beta runs through March.

Antonella. I’ve not posted for a while as I have been ferreting away developing my collaborative moodboard and shoot planning app ShootVision.net that launches in April (you’d be welcome to follow @shootvision_moodboard in anticipation!), but here is a little portrait of @dvphotography2018 that we shot this time last year to be going on with. #portraitphotographer #painterlyphotography #moodboard by @shootvision_moodboard

Colour has always played a key role in my photography. Sometimes my personal projects start with nothing more than a tightly curated colour palette. so there should be no surprise that colour support in ShootVision has been important. Ability to define palettes (including provision of public palettes to provide inspo), extract them from images, provide AI generated Inspo, and add palettes and swatches to any board. Palette can be imported and exported to Adobe tools, and shared separately to the moodboard itself with the creative team.

What is your relationship with colour? Central to your work, or just a by-product of a broader vision? Let me know your thoughts, and if there is one killer colour feature you would want to see in a collaborative moodboard and shoot planning app. by @shootvision_moodboard

Most photographers don’t struggle with creativity.
They struggle with containing it.

Ideas begin as fragments.
Saved images.
Shared references.
Half-formed thoughts.

A board here.
A thread there.
A call sheet called FINAL_REAL.pdf.

The creative spark is clear.
The structure around it isn’t.

And somewhere between concept and call sheet,
things start to scatter.

It works.
But it’s fragmented.

We’re building something more structured.
A way to hold the whole process in one place.
From concept to call sheet.

Beta opens in March.
