New in stock at Sunkiss !! 💝 Yesterday I braved the train and journeyed down to Birmingham to pick up some goodies from @rotgirl_ and @antic.creations. In addition to @cincere_zine you’ll soon find the second issue of Rotgirl for sale at Sunkiss too 💗 📖 The gorgeous cover was shot by Kel who generously came along and let me nab a few handmade EGL accessories, they will be coming in very limited stock to sheff red brick on monday. I am very proud to be stocking some local goods made by and for the community, please show them lots of love if you drop by our Sheffield space!! Thank you so much to Haz and Kel for having me. Getting out to meet and collaborate with other creatives in the jfashion space is just what we need at a time when superfast fashion and gen AI is trying to take over our world. by @shop_sunkiss

We’ve been showing up irl a lot more recently, so it’s a little quiet online. I’m a bit burned out, but still here, and still paying attention in the ways that matter— I see the US, Congo, Ukraine, Palestine, the corruption on our own turf. Sunkiss remains and always will be a loving protest against a*holes. This space began as a middle finger to being sexually harassed outside my own home. Whether it be misogyny, fascism, genocide, racism, transphobia (and so on), we don’t kneel to bullies or censorship.

But you don’t need to perform activism to be a part of a movement. Make a zine for your weirdest special interest. Start a yuri book club. Meet up in your most outrageous jfashion coord. Bring snacks for those who can’t afford them. And always check that your friends get home safe after. Be a loud and proud fujo in a patriarchal world that wants you barefoot and pregnant. Do it ugly. They really hate that.

Maybe the most important thing you can do right now is start your own website, no matter how rubbish — make a stand against the current push for brain rot and online authoritarianism, and let yourself have fun doing it. That’s our power: loudly and unapologetically taking up space. by @shop_sunkiss

💜 Small Birmingham update. We are still recovering stock levels following our insane schedule last month and the flooding in Sheffield but I, @distraughtoverlord, got the chance to come back down and convene with my darling underling of brum @antic.creations. We now have two adorable little handmade signs in there, and restocked a bit. Getting stock from Japan is tough right now (at some of the prices wholesalers are asking, we’d have to charge £40 just for baby tees..) so I’m trying to balance it with some gyaruable Italian vintage that is more affordable. by @shop_sunkiss

Our parapara dancer @henveri8 at @bizzarocabarave x Sunkiss this past weekend! We were so hyped to bring some gyaruo representation to the club for the first time. It was so fun, but our fleeting dalliance with Henry Verity is short and sweet… don’t forget us when you’re out there gyaruo mogging us all with the OGs. 💗✈️ If you wanna dance parapara with us - without giving yourself a glow stick bukkake - hit us up because we’ll be back for more cabarave!! by @shop_sunkiss

So so proud of our parapara dancers at @ghoulsclubuk x Sunkiss!! We were mixing tracks in the green room until the final hour but we made it! Watching my little team fill the dancefloor with cheers, singing and dancing, I almost cried. Getting the opportunity to platform the UK gyaru community is a dream come true. Thank you so much for your hard work, @himemancer @zombishikku and @acidic_cosplay and of course Ghouls Club for inviting us. We’ll definitely be back, so everyone keep practicing parapara and you can dance along!! by @shop_sunkiss

I found out last night that Egg model Kanako Kawabata passed away, so it was important to me that I include her in this week’s magazine restock in Birmingham. She was an iconic gyaru model of my teenage years and only 36 years old. I have a few scans of her from my gyaruo magazine archive, so I’ll try and make a blog post showcasing her style.💗 by @shop_sunkiss

Rejoice, for Sheffield has been restocked again!! Tomorrow I’ll be in Birmingham too sooo you should come to Red Brick and say hi and read some magazines and we do parapara together, because dancing releases endorphins and arguing on tiktok about droops does not. I have packed plenty of rokku gyaru baby tees but I’m not sure which magazines I’ll bring yet- Ageha and Larme?? Men’s Egg???? by @shop_sunkiss
