What began as a hobby became one of the purest expressions of how I see the world, a love letter to my heritage, shaped by everywhere I have been. I created @shopa.au to share the beauty of where I come from while allowing travel, architecture, people, color, texture and culture to expand the way I understood home.

But somewhere along the way, something changed.
I prospered on paper, yet I began to recognize that my soul was not prospering in the same way. I had spent so much of my life learning how to build that I had not given equal attention to learning how to be. How to be still, How to be rooted, How to cultivate faith beyond what I had inherited. How to separate ambition from identity. How to understand that a gift can produce fruit and still require the person carrying it to tend to their own soil.

And so, for a while, I stopped. I stepped away from the constant need to produce, perform and prove. I turned my attention toward my faith and toward the parts of my life I felt I had neglected in my pursuit of success.

The question of the past few years has simply been:
What now?

And perhaps one of the greatest lessons of 35 is realizing that the answer to that question cannot be found solely by looking ahead. Sometimes you have to look back. Back to the beginning. Back to what was placed inside of you before achievement complicated it. Back to the things you loved before you learned to measure their value by how much they could produce. Back to my roots.

A wise person eventually understands that the deepest questions of purpose can only be adequately answered by seeking the One who created them.

I will not pretend that I have all the answers now.
I don’t. But I have something I value even more: grace. Grace to begin again. Grace to explore.
Grace to make things simply because something within me feels compelled to make them.
Grace to return to my work with a deeper understanding of the gifts I have been entrusted to steward.

So today, I celebrate 35 years of life.
15 years of sharing this journey with you.
10 years of @shopa.au
