Y’all know our Labor Day post is ALWAYS reserved for our most favorite people in the world…OUR STAFF!

Every season we set out to fill our gaps with new hires that complement the staff we already have in place. Experienced staff interviews dozens of candidates and cross their fingers that the decisions they make will benefit the staff as a whole. Well, they nailed it!

This staff was fun…hysterically funny, super energetic, and skilled from the start. Summers tend to be extremely stressful for Wes, Raf and I, but this one was filled with so many memorable moments and laughs even when we all wanted to cry. (Scroll to continue)

To our rookies…we have no idea how we’ll ever top this rookie team. In every location, you guys added something we didn’t know we were missing! We hope you all have a great year at school, but more importantly…we hope to see you all back next year!

To our Print Team…you are second to none! You arrive at open after closing only 9 hours before. There is no hustle quite like printing hundreds of pieces under the gun, especially during a heat wave, and getting them shipped out the door before noon. You are our best and most experienced at what you do and we thank you! (Scroll to continue)

To our managers…we lost another great one this season which meant that you all took on more, yet again. You never complain. You never say “no, it can’t be done.” Somehow you just make it work. You are the people we trust the most and for half the year, the first and last people we speak to each and every day. We love and appreciate you all and thank you for another great summer! To the Surf Mall staff specifically. It’s always critical that we give extra props to this crew because the conditions are tough. No heat, no A/C, and absolutely no way to shut out the black flies that invade with the land breeze. These people work in the freezing cold and the sticky heat and it rarely phases them. You all are a different breed of hustlers and we love you for it!

You come from all walks of life and yet those differences mean absolutely nothing when you’re together. You all are an outstanding group of highly talented individuals and we’r by @shopbirdcage
