Twirling into the week, like…. 💃🏾 Realizing that this week is somewhat of @shopbtt_’s anniversary week, as we released our first tutu for purchase on Juneteenth of last year. To say that the release was properly planned out and executed would be a complete lie. 😩 In full transparency, the truth is we had been produced the Juneteenth-inspired tutu design (the first design we released) for a few months prior to when we actually released it for purchase. We were trying to perfect other areas of the brand (website, packaging, production, etc.) and just found ourselves stalling unnecessarily. We honestly never had a specific date in mind for our release, but after months of procrastinating, we decided to just finally launch with what we had and worry about perfecting the other things as we went along. Also, when we initially designed the Juneteenth-inspired tutu, we didn’t even have Juneteenth in mind, much less a name for the design. 🙈It was just a design we came up with based on leftover fabric and trimming we already had, and once we decided to finally release it in June of 2020, we realized it incorporated the colors and feel of Juneteenth, and that’s when we decided we’d release it on Juneteenth. 🤷🏾‍♀️ It has certainly been quite the year, filled w/disappointment, frustration, tears, personal struggles, but most importantly, lessons. We still have not perfected some areas and still have a long way to go. One of our biggest challenges has been around manufacturing and finding professional, reliable assistance for production, which is something we are still dealing with. But a wise man once said, “I don’t lose. I either win or I learn”, and we have learned a lot in our first year of business that we will use to continuously improve and grow into the successful brand that God created us to be. ♥️🙏🏾 taken in Ripetizioni & Tutoring by @shopbtt_

Happy Tuturific Tuesday❣️ I absolutely love this artwork for my desk at work (no, I’m not a full-time entrepreneur.... YET 🙏🏾), painted and given to me by @h0n3ybunny 🎨 The colors are so beautiful and have inspired us to recreate this painting by designing a tutu with these same exact colors. 😍 We also love these colors b/c they’re mostly the colors of our logo (we’ll post our main logo and alternate logos in our story for reference). PSA: I am not a Seamstress; I’m a Designer, which means I don’t replicate other Designers’ work. God blessed me with my own gift, which includes the creative vision for my own unique designs. Everyone has their own gift(s). It is absolutely offensive to send a Designer another Designer’s work, because we work too hard on our craft and wouldn’t want our designs copied by anyone. If you see a particular design that you like, purchase it from that Designer who it belongs to.
