KNOT OKAY WRAPPED!! 🧶 my first full year of @shopknotokay! besides presenting a collection at Crochet Fashion Week + our stellar photoshoot, i was constantly hitting the streets peddling my wares + promoting @knotokayclub! 🫶🏾

all my KNOT OKAY pieces are created with you in mind… literally! most of the hats above i made last minute before the event because i felt intuitively that someone there needs it. it’s an incredible feeling to match the piece with the person - i know it’s them as soon as they come up and they leave feeling so seen (and stylish)! you can tell by their genuine smiles! it makes all the hussle worth it! 🥹

I haven’t vended recently because for a while, I had nothing to show. I was feeling so creatively stifled by the pressure to maintain my rep as “the crochet girl” that I avoided making anything at all 🫩 Once I freed myself from the imaginary box of a “niche”, I had so much more creative freedom!

This weekend was very special to me because I got to debut my first pieces of upcycled jewelry, clothes and accessories for @shopknotokay ✨ I brought back all my old favorite techniques - beading, bleaching, painting - and you all loved it! Thank you for reminding me I can’t be a singular expression of myself when there’s too many manifestations… you get it! 🥹🫶🏾

This 1 of 1 piece was upcycled from a thrifted crochet blanket donated by a community elder in my parents’ neighborhood. Vintage novelty yarn creates a petal-like trim and drawstring, providing options for strapless or halter neckline + a custom fit that adapts to your growth over time 🌱
